Styrene‐divinylbenzene copolymers for high‐performance proppant applications

Polymer Engineering & Science
Abstract This study focuses on developing and characterizing polymer‐based materials for high‐performance applications as proppants in oil and gas wells. We use styrene‐divinylbenzene (Sty‐DVB) copolymers as the base, incorporating additives such as polybutadiene (PB) and polyphenylene oxide (PPO).

Inhomogeneity of gel and microsyneresis in porous styrene‐divinylbenzene copolymers

British Polymer Journal, 1985
AbstractThe porosity of styrene‐divinylbenzene copolymers prepared by suspension copolymerisation of the monomers carried out in the presence of inert diluent changes due to solvent pretreatment is investigated. The changes seem to reflect the inhomogeneity of copolymer gel.

Catalytic properties of cobalt(II) porphyrins supported on styrene-divinylbenzene copolymer

Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 1996
Polymeric pyridinium chloride was synthesized by treating pyridine with 2% divinylbenzene (DVB)-crosslinked chloromethyl polystyrene. Sodium 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(4-sulfophenyl)porphyrin was synthesized and appended on the above polymer through an ionic linkage.

Styrene‐divinylbenzene copolymers II. Influence of the nature of the diluent on the texture of macroporous copolymers

Die Angewandte Makromolekulare Chemie, 1979
AbstractMacroporous styrene‐divinylbenzene resins are studied using precipitating agents as diluents. A definition of the macroporous domain is given, based on homogeneous properties and structures. The existence of this macroporous domain is proved to be a general feature of the macroporous resins field.
