Catalytic Oxidation of Styrene in the Presence of Square Planar Cobalt(iii) Complexes of Polyanionic Chelating Ligands [PDF]

open access: yes, 1987
Styrene has been catalytically oxidised in the presence of iodosoarenes and square planar cobalt(iii) complexes of polyanionic chelating (PAC) ligands; possible intermediates in these oxygen atom transfer reactions include cobalt(v)-oxo ...

Iridium Oxide Inverse Opal Anodes with Tailored Porosity for Efficient PEM Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The synthesis of Iridium‐based Inverse Opals (Ir‐IO) is reported as electrocatalyst for Proton exchange membrane water electrolysis (PEM‐WE). Using the developed protocol it produces highly porous materials consisting either of metallic, oxidic Iridium or a combination thereof with large surface areas.

Engineering of Syndiotactic and Isotactic Polystyrene-Based Copolymers via Stereoselective Catalytic Polymerization

open access: yesMolecules, 2017
This contribution presents an updated overview of the different copolymers containing stereoregular polystyrene blocks. Special emphasis is placed on syndiospecific and isospecific copolymerization of styrene with co-monomers (ethylene and α-olefins ...

Ruthenium Nanoparticles Stabilized with Methoxy-Functionalized Ionic Liquids: Synthesis and Structure–Performance Relations in Styrene Hydrogenation

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2023
A series of ruthenium nanoparticles (RuNPs) were synthesized by the organometallic approach in different functionalized imidazolium ionic liquids (FILs). Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) showed well-dispersed and narrow-sized RuNPs ranging from 1.3

Catalytic and mechanistic studies into the epoxidation of styrenes using manganese complexes of structurally similar polyamine ligands [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The synthesis and catalytic activity of manganese(ii) complexes of two polyamine ligands is reported which highlights how a small structural change in the ligand affects the overall catalytic behaviour.

Occurrence of styrene-7,8-oxide and styrene glycol in mouse after the administration of styrene.

open access: yesScandinavian Journal of Work, Environment & Health, 1984
Styrene-7,8-oxide and its hydrated product styrene glycol were determined in mouse tissues at different times (0.5-5 h) after the intraperitoneal administration of 7-[14C]-styrene (3.8 mmol/kg). In a study of the influence of dose on the metabolite pattern of styrene, mice were killed 2 h after a dose of 1.1, 2.3, 3.4, and 5.1 mmol/kg, respectively ...

Electro‐Active Metasurfaces Controlling Exceptional Topological Phase Through Low‐Voltage Operation on Conductive Polymer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This research investigates an electro‐active chiral optical response (EACOR)‐driven dual‐channel metasurfaces with fast electrical switching rates of 52 ms, and a low operating voltage of 0.5 V. The combination of polyaniline (PANI) thin film and the exceptional topological (ET) phase of chiral gold (Au) meta‐atoms modulate holographic images through ...

Direct Detection of Products from the Pyrolysis of 2-Phenethyl Phenyl Ether [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The pyrolysis of 2-phenethyl phenyl ether (PPE, C_6H_5C_2H_4OC_6H_5) in a hyperthermal nozzle (300-1350 °C) was studied to determine the importance of concerted and homolytic unimolecular decomposition pathways. Short residence times (

Tissue distribution of styrene, styrene glycol and more polar styrene metabolites in the mouse.

open access: yesScandinavian Journal of Work, Environment & Health, 1983
A primary objective of the present investigation was to determine the tissue distribution of styrene, styrene glycol, and more polar metabolites in mice at different times (0.5-5 h) after the intraperitoneal administration of styrene (3.3 mmol/kg). Another aim was to determine the dose dependence of the metabolite pattern of styrene in the different ...

Defect‐Free Block Copolymer‐Based Distributed Bragg Reflector for Optimized Light Harvesting in BiVO4 Photoanodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A solution‐processed distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) film, integrated via block copolymer (BCP) self‐assembly, enhances photon recycling in BiVO4 photoanodes for improved photoelectrochemical (PEC) performance. By tuning lamellar structures using lactic acid and cross‐linking density, the DBR film optimally shifts working wavelengths, boosting ...
