Development ofBaZr_0.80Y_0.20O₃andSrCe_0.95Yb_0.05O₃Heterostructures forProton‐conductingOxides

An investigation was carried out on BaZr0.80Y0.20O3 (BZY) and SrCe0.95Yb0.05O3 (SCY) heterostructures for proton-conducting oxides. The heterostructures were produced by a combinatorial approach yielding 27 different phase fractions in a single sputter deposition.

Efficient Ho:(Sc₀₅Y₀₅)₂SiO₅ laser at 21 µm in-band pumped by Tm fiber laser

In this paper, we demonstrate a new 2.1-µm Ho:(Sc0.5Y0.5)2SiO5 (Ho:SYSO) laser at room temperature. The absorption and emission spectra of Ho:SYSO crystal were studied at temperature of 300 K. The strongest absorption peak of 5I7 level of Ho ions in SYSO crystal is located at 1943 nm with cross section of 0.79 × 10-20 cm2.

Enhancement in speed and responsivity of uni-traveling carrier photodiodes with GaAs₀₅Sb₀₅/In₀₅₃Ga₀₄₇As type-II hybrid absorbers

We demonstrate a top-illuminated high-speed uni-traveling carrier photodiode (UTC-PD) with a novel design in the p-type absorber, which can effectively shorten the photon absorption depth at telecommunication wavelengths (1.31~1.55 μm) and further enhance the bandwidth-efficiency product of UTC-PD.

Antiferromagnetic, charge and orbital order in Na₀₅CoO₂based on the two dimensional 11 bands d-p model

The electronic state of the CoO2 plane in the layered cobalt oxide Na0.5CoO2 is investigated on the basis of the 11 band d-p model on a two dimensional triangular lattice, where the tight-binding parameters are determined so as to fit the LDA band structure and an effective one dimensional potential is added so as to include the effect of the Na order.
