Atomic Size Misfit for Electrocatalytic Small Molecule Activation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review explores the application and mechanisms of atomic size misfit in catalysis for small molecule activation, focusing on how structural defects and electronic properties can effectively lower the energy barriers of chemical bonds in molecules like H2O, CO2, and N2.

Volcanic evolution of an ultraslow-spreading ridge

open access: yesNature Communications, 2023
Nearly 30% of ocean crust forms at mid-ocean ridges where the spreading rate is less than 20 mm per year. According to the seafloor spreading paradigm, oceanic crust forms along a narrow axial zone and is transported away from the rift valley.

A phase steered parametric array for sub-bottom profiling [PDF]

open access: yes6th International Conference on Electronic Engineering in Oceanography, 1994
The non-linear sonar developed at Loughborough University of Technology for sub-bottom profiling now meets the specifications of the REBECCA programme (Woodward et al., 1993). At 5 kHz it gives a source level of approximately 196 dB re 1 mu Pa at 1m and a beam of approximately 2.50 x 2.50, A -3 dB bandwidth of +/- 3 kHz should be available at 5 kHz ...

All‐in‐One Analog AI Hardware: On‐Chip Training and Inference with Conductive‐Metal‐Oxide/HfOx ReRAM Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An all‐in‐one analog AI accelerator is presented, enabling on‐chip training, weight retention, and long‐term inference acceleration. It leverages a BEOL‐integrated CMO/HfOx ReRAM array with low‐voltage operation (<1.5 V), multi‐bit capability over 32 states, low programming noise (10 nS), and near‐ideal weight transfer.

The Application Of Acoustic Detection Technology In The Investigation Of Submarine Pipelines

open access: yesJournal of Applied Science and Engineering
The submarine pipeline (SP) off the southwestern coast of Taiwan was surveyed using a high-resolution subbottom profiler (SBP), a magnetometer, and dual-frequency side-scan sonar (SSS).

Micropatterned Biphasic Printed Electrodes for High‐Fidelity on‐Skin Bioelectronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Micropatterned biphasic printed electrodes achieve unprecedented skin conformity and low impedance by combining liquid‐metal droplets with microstructured 3D lattices. This scalable approach enables high‐fidelity detection of ECG, EMG, and EEG signals, including alpha rhythms from the forehead, with long‐term comfort and stability.

Applicability of Traditional Acoustic Technology for Underwater Archeology: A Case Study of Model Detection in Xiamen Bay

open access: yesAcoustics
This study addresses the applicability of conventional marine acoustic technologies for detecting non-metal artifacts. Based on the typical environment in Xiamen Bay, we evaluated the detection efficacy of common multibeam sonar, side-scan sonar, and sub-

Gas sips and shallow accumulations of gas on the shelf of Turkey in the Black sea

open access: yesГеологія і корисні копалини Світового океану, 2021
It has been suggested that shelf and slope sediments of high deposition rate are methane sources, whereas the deep basin is methane sink. The methane production and migration in sediments may cause massive slope failures so methane is geologically ...
