GHz sampling hardware implementation with sub-Nyquist coprime sampling rates

Review of Scientific Instruments, 2019
A sub-Nyquist coprime sampling system for sparse signals is implemented in this article. The proposed system is composed of coprime sampling hardware and a multicoset signal reconstruction algorithm. A pair of uniform samplers is utilized in the hardware to sample a wideband spare analog signal with an uncertain difference in start times.

Antialiasing Encoder Interface With Sub-Nyquist Sampling

IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 2006
A technique is presented for reconstructing absolute position or angle from time-sampled outputs of incremental encoders. Unlike existing techniques, the new method is able to track analog quadrature outputs with frequency contents higher than the Nyquist frequency.

Sub-Nyquist sampling achieves optimal rate-distortion

2015 IEEE Information Theory Workshop (ITW), 2015
The minimal sampling frequency required to achieve the rate-distortion function of a Gaussian stationary process is analyzed. Although the Nyquist rate is the minimal sampling frequency that allows perfect reconstruction of a bandlimited signal from its samples, relaxing perfect reconstruction to a prescribed distortion may allow a lower sampling ...

Decentralized regression with asynchronous sub-Nyquist sampling

2014 48th Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems and Computers, 2014
When capturing data on a sensor field to uncover its latent structure, there are often nuisance parameters in the observation model that turn even linear regression problems into non-convex optimizations. One common case is the lack of common timing source in ADCs, therefore samplings are done with time offsets.

Cyclostationary feature detection from sub-Nyquist samples

2011 4th IEEE International Workshop on Computational Advances in Multi-Sensor Adaptive Processing (CAMSAP), 2011
Wideband spectrum sensing which requires detecting the presence or absence of signals in a wideband channel faces multiple practical issues. Current bandwidth limitations of state-of-the-art analog to digital converters require alternative approaches to be considered for wideband sensing.

Nonuniform compressive sampling at sub-Nyquist rates

2012 IEEE 11th International Conference on Signal Processing, 2012
A nonuniform compressive sampling digital signal processing method and its application in the frequency detection studied in this paper. The fundamental principle of nonuniform compressive sampling is explored, the nonuniform compressive sampling has being able to suppress the aliasing.

Wideband Spectrum Sensing using Sub-Nyquist Sampling Approaches

2020 IEEE 3rd 5G World Forum (5GWF), 2020
Cognitive Radio (CR) is expected to play an important role in 5G wireless communications to meet the challenging requirements of massive Machine-to-Machine (M2M) connectivity and Internet of Things (IoT). CR networks should be capable of wideband spectrum sensing (WSS) to provide opportunistic spectrum access and to abate spectrum scarcity.

Cyclic spectrum reconstruction from sub-Nyquist samples

2014 IEEE Global Communications Conference, 2014
Communication signals are often cyclostationary, that is they have statistical characteristics that vary periodically in time. In the frequency domain, this translates into correlation between spectral components of the signal. As a result, the cyclic spectrum, a characteristic function of the second-order moment of such signals, exhibits spectral ...

Sub-Nyquist Sampling of Single Tone Signal

2020 21st International Conference of Young Specialists on Micro/Nanotechnologies and Electron Devices (EDM), 2020
This paper demonstrates a method of single tone frequency measurement through preliminary amplitude predistortion in the two equalizers with opposite slope of transfer coefficients and a consequent sub-sampling. Theory of the method is discussed. Operability of the method in a several Nyquist zones successfully demonstrated experimentally.

High-resolution cyclic spectrum reconstruction from sub-Nyquist samples

2013 IEEE 14th Workshop on Signal Processing Advances in Wireless Communications (SPAWC), 2013
In this paper, the problem of reconstruction of Spectral Correlation Function (SCF) from sub-Nyquist samples is studied. We will first propose a novel formulation for the problem and then employ two two-dimensional greedy like sparse signal recovery algorithms, namely Compressive Sampling Matching Pursuit (CoSaMP) and Iterative Hard Thresholding (IHT),
