Taxonomic, phylogenetic and functional diversity patterns of Saturniidae moth communities along a tropical forest recovery gradient in Ecuador

open access: yesInsect Conservation and Diversity, EarlyView.
Diverse Saturniidae moth communities are found in naturally recovering tropical forests in Ecuador. Community composition showed a gradual turnover with strongest differences between old‐growth forest and active agriculture, but only weak differences in taxonomic, phylogenetic and functional diversity. While our results suggest that Saturniidae are not

Vectors and Vector‐Borne Diseases: Biology, Epidemiology and Integrated Control Strategies

open access: yesJournal of Applied Entomology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Vector‐Borne Diseases (VBDs), transmitted by arthropods such as mosquitoes, ticks, fleas and sandflies, represent a significant threat to global health. These diseases can be caused by a variety of pathogens, including bacteria, viruses, protozoa, and helminths.

First Record of Arrhenophagus chionaspidis Aurivillius (Hymenoptera: Encyrtidae) Parasitizing White Mango Scale in Kenya: Its Potential Distribution and Prospects in Biocontrol

open access: yesJournal of Applied Entomology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The white mango scale, Aulacaspis tubercularis Newstead (Hemiptera: Diaspididae), is one of the most destructive pests of mango worldwide. Its current management in most of the invaded areas largely depends on the intensive use of chemical insecticides.

Tree growth response and adaptation to climate change and climate extremes: From canopy to stem

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Plant Biology, EarlyView.
This review synthesizes the responses and adaptations of tree growth, including canopy phenology, intra‐annual wood formation dynamics, and annual stem growth, to climate change and climate extremes. It highlights key knowledge gaps for future research to support sustainable forest management and enhance forest carbon storage under ongoing climate ...
