Sub-acute toxicity of piperonyl butoxide in F344 rats

Toxicology, 1992
Piperonyl butoxide, alpha-[2-(2-Butoxyethoxy)ethoxy]-4,5-methylenedioxy- 2-propyltoluene, is a pesticide synergist. F344 rats of both sex were maintained on diets containing 0, 0.6, 1.2 or 2.4% of piperonyl butoxide for 13 weeks. At the end of experimental period, they were necropsied.

The acute and sub-acute toxicity of C60/PVP complex in vivo

Advances in nano research, 2016
The detailed study of acute and sub-acute toxicity of the complex polyvinylpyrrolidon (PVP 20 kDa)-wrapped fullerene after intraperitoneal (ip) administration was carried out on adult male Wistar rats. The value of complex was found to be 7, 8 g/kg. In sub-acute study which lasted for 30 days the rats were exposed to daily administration of the complex

Acute and sub-acute inhalation toxicity of germanium metal powder in rats

Food and Chemical Toxicology, 1990
An acute (4-hr) and a sub-acute (4-wk) inhalation toxicity study of germanium metal powder (purity 99.8%, mean particle size 2.0-2.4 microns) were carried out in young adult Wistar rats. Exposure of five male and five female rats to 3.86 or 5.34 g/m3 for 4 hr resulted in the death of one rat at each exposure level.

Sub-acute toxicity of xylitol in rats; absence of hepatotoxicity

Toxicology, 1977
Some workers have suggested that 6 days xylitol administration to rats results in hepatic dysfunction. In our study xylitol was administered to rats by daily gastric intubation for a period of 14 days. Dose levels were 1.25, 2.5, 5 and 10 g/kg. During treatment (2, 5 and 14 days), animals were submitted to careful clinical examinations and to blood ...

Metformin ameliorates acetaminophen-induced sub-acute toxicity via antioxidant property

Drug and Chemical Toxicology, 2019
Acetaminophen or N-acetyl-p-amino-phenol (APAP) is a drug which is available over-the-counter for fever and pain. Its overdosing causes oxidative stress and subsequent acute liver damage. In the present study, we scrutinized the protective effect of metformin co-treatment in APAP induced blood and liver sub-acute toxicity.
