Isolation of the right subclavian artery

Isolation of the left subclavian artery in patients with a right aortic arch is well known [1 -4]. In this malformation, the subclavian artery is connected to the ductus arteriosus rather than to the arch. After birth, following ductus closure, the left subclavian artery becomes isolated and is fed by collateral flow.
