Finger Vein Recognition by Generating Code [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
Finger vein recognition has drawn increasing attention as one of the most popular and promising biometrics due to its high distinguishes ability, security and non-invasive procedure. The main idea of traditional schemes is to directly extract features from finger vein images or patterns and then compare features to find the best match.

Postmortem Concentration and Redistribution of Diazepam, Methadone, and Morphine with Subclavian and Femoral Vein Dissection/Clamping

open access: yesJournal of Forensic Sciences, 2016
Postmortem redistribution (PMR) concerns blood drug concentration variations after death, depending on many factors such as sampling site and technique. In our study, we focused on sampling method.

“Tension Chyle Leak”: A Life‐Threatening Sequela of Thoracic Duct Injury Following Resection of BRAF‐Mutated Anaplastic Thyroid Carcinoma

open access: yesHead &Neck, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Airway obstruction secondary to chyle leak is an exceptionally rare phenomenon. Here, we describe this complication in a patient with anaplastic thyroid carcinoma (ATC) undergoing consolidative surgery after BRAF‐targeted therapy. Methods A 55‐year‐old man presented with a rapidly enlarging neck mass.

Systematic review and meta‐analysis of percutaneous subclavian vein puncture versus surgical venous cutdown for the insertion of a totally implantable venous access device

open access: yesBritish Journal of Surgery, 2014
Totally implantable venous access devices (TIVADs) are commonly used in patients with cancer. Although several methods of implantation have been described, there is not enough evidence to support the use of a specific technique on a daily basis.

Development of a Stereo-Vision Based High-Throughput Robotic System for Mouse Tail Vein Injection [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
In this paper, we present a robotic device for mouse tail vein injection. We propose a mouse holding mechanism to realize vein injection without anesthetizing the mouse, which consists of a tourniquet, vacuum port, and adaptive tail-end fixture. The position of the target vein in 3D space is reconstructed from a high-resolution stereo vision.

Streptokinase in the treatment of subclavian vein thrombosis [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Vascular Surgery, 1986
During the past 2 years, streptokinase has been used to treat subclavian or axillary vein thrombosis in seven patients of whom two were considered "effort" thromboses and five resulted from use of a central venous catheter. All patients had venography performed before treatment to document the thrombosis, and venography was repeated after streptokinase
