Experimental Investigation of Sub-Cooled Flow Boiling in Metallic Microchannel [PDF]
Experiments in microchannel heat sink were carried that examine the deionized water two-phase boiling heat transfer. The heat sink consisted of a single microchannel having 300μm wide nominal dimensions and 300μm height (hydraulic diameter of 300μm). The

Sustainable Thermal Solutions: Enhancing Heat Transfer with Turbulators and Nanofluids
Nanofluids, which are nanoparticle suspensions in base fluid, facilitate heat transmission due to their improved thermal conductivity. Turbulators, which are inserts into fluid flow channels, disturb the flow, increasing turbulence and hence the heat transfer rate.

An investigation on hydrate prediction and inhibition: An industrial case study
Abstract This investigation reports the first study to predict natural gas hydrate formation using both Aspen HYSYS® and HydraFlash software for various gas compositions and thermodynamic inhibitors (monoethylene glycol [MEG] concentrations at 10, 20, 30, and 40 wt.% and methanol concentrations at 10 and 20 wt.%). The simulated predictions are compared

Full‐Range Drift–Flux Correlation for Upward Cocurrent Two‐Phase Flows in Vertical Pipes
In nuclear thermal–hydraulic analysis, the void fraction prediction for upward two‐phase flows in vertical pipes is essential. The two‐fluid model is used as a platform for one‐dimensional (One‐D) nuclear thermal–hydraulic system analysis codes since it can treat the kinematic and thermal nonequilibrium between phases through interfacial transfer terms.

This study examines the heat transfer and pressure drop characteristics of water/aluminum oxide (Al2O3) nanofluid flow in a semi‐twisted tube within solar collector systems. The investigation focuses on the influence of varying nanofluid concentrations and twisted tube lengths on thermal performance and friction factor.

Void fraction thermo-kinematics for subcooled flow boiling
This work presents some preliminary results about a new void fraction model in subcooled flow boiling based on brand new mass and energy balances developed by the author over the past years. As main novelties, the new mass balance is based on the liquid velocity and the mixture specific volume, whereas the new heat balance is a function of the mixture ...
