Riesz transforms associated to Schr\"odinger operators with negative potentials

open access: yes, 2009
The goal of this paper is to study the Riesz transforms $\na A^{-1/2}$ where $A$ is the Schr\"odinger operator $-\D-V, V\ge 0$, under different conditions on the potential $V$. We prove that if $V$ is strongly subcritical, $\na A^{-1/2}$ is bounded on $L^

Long time dynamics for damped Klein-Gordon equations

open access: yes, 2015
For general nonlinear Klein-Gordon equations with dissipation we show that any finite energy radial solution either blows up in finite time or asymptotically approaches a stationary solution in $H^1\times L^2$.

Some features in experimental determination of subcriticality in nuclear reactor and accelerator driven system

open access: yesЯдерна фізика та енергетика, 2017
Article is dedicated to the analysis of some terms and definitions of the normative document "General safety provisions for subcritical nuclear installation". The main attention is given to the discussion of such terms as effective multiplication factor,

Performance prediction of a slender half-displacement passenger craft for inland navigation

open access: yesAnnals of "Dunărea de Jos" University of Galaţi: Fascicle XI Shipbuilding, 2015
The design of a small passenger craft for Venice is presented. The paper deals with hydrodynamic aspects mainly concerning resistance prediction in shallow water for subcritical, critical and supercritical regimes.

Subcritical Bifurcations and Spatiotemporal Intermittency

open access: yes, 1991
Following an analogy with bifurcation theory, we study the transition to turbulence when a local subcriticality produces sharp and localized interfaces between “laminar” and “turbulent” domains. This transition to spatiotemporal intermittency is analyzed in a variety of numerical and experimental systems and shown to be best described as a phase ...

Normalized ground state solutions for Kirchhoff equation with subcritical or critical perturbation

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations
This article concerns the Kirchhoff equation with subcritical or critical perturbation. We establish the existence of normalized ground state solutions by using Pohozaev manifold and subcritical approximation methods.
