Innovation Cultural Models: Review and Proposal for Next Steps

open access: yesUniversidad y Empresa, 2017
An abundance of literature suggests a strong link between organization, culture, and innovation. These three concepts cannot be understood separately.

The importance of post-thaw subculture for standardizing cellular activity of fresh or cryopreserved mouse embryonic stem cells [PDF]

open access: yesAsian-Australasian Journal of Animal Sciences, 2018
Objective Remarkable difference in cellular activity was found between early and late subpassaged embryonic stem cell (ESCs) lines, which can be created by subtle changes in cell manipulation protocol.

How subcultures emerge

open access: yesEvolutionary Human Sciences, 2023
Abstract Sympatric speciation is typically presented as a rare phenomenon, but urban subcultures frequently emerge even in the absence of geographic isolation. Is there perhaps something that culture has but biological inheritance does not that would account for this difference?

An Engineered Living Material With Pro‐Angiogenic Activity Inducible by Near‐Infrared Light

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
NIR‐responsive engineered living materials (ELMs) for controlled angiogenesis: Near‐infrared (800 nm) light activates engineered probiotic bacteria within alginate‐based living materials to secrete a blood vessel‐regenerating protein. The released protein promotes pro‐angiogenic effects in endothelial networks and chick chorioallantoic membranes.

Amyloidogenic Peptide Fragments Designed From Bacterial Collagen‐like Proteins Form Hydrogel

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study identified amyloidogenic sequence motifs in bacterial collagen‐like proteins and exploited these to design peptides that self‐assemble into β‐sheet fibers and form hydrogels. One hydrogel supported healthy fibroblast growth, showing promise for biocompatible materials. Our work demonstrates that bacterial sequences can be harnessed to create

Sociocultural determinants of subculture orientation in adolescents [PDF]

open access: yesПсихологическая наука и образование (2007. Online), 2014
We analyze the results of the study of the influence of sociocultural determinants on the formation of youth subcultures. An introduction to the subculture is understood as one of the stages of individualization and formation of the young person as a ...

A qualitative exploration of whether lesbian and bisexual women are 'protected' from sociocultural pressure to be thin [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Heterosexual women in Western cultures are known to experience body image concerns, dieting and disordered eating as a result of intense social pressures to be thin. However, it is theorised that lesbian and bisexual women belong to a subculture that is ‘

Tissue‐Stimulator Platform for Electrically Stimulating Pancreatic β‐Cells for Long‐Term Functional Regulation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We present a tissue‐stimulator platform for seamless electrode integration with pancreatic tissue, applying uniform electrical stimulation through optimized design with biohybrid 3D printing. Advantageous effects of electrical stimulation on β‐cell function were observed, including enhanced calcium signaling, islet morphology, and maturation.

La spirale dell’azzardo: una subcultura del gioco che “evapora” le relazioni / La spirale du jeu de hasard : une sous-culture qui empêche toute relation / The gambling: a subculture of game that “burns” the relationships [PDF]

open access: yesRivista di Criminologia, Vittimologia e Sicurezza, 2011
In this paper I have analysed the characteristics of what I define the “gambling subculture”, which is detectable in certain gaming environments and in subgroups of particularly “rabid” players.

Coaxially Electrospun Myocardial dECM‐ Based Nanofibrous Scaffolds Demonstrate Enhanced Cardiomyocyte Biocompatibility

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Our coaxial electrospinning system is capable of incorporating decellularized myocardial extracellular matrix in a core‐sheath configuration, creating nanofibrous scaffolds. These scaffolds, in turn, support the maintenance of functional cardiomyocytes adhered to the surface of these bioactive scaffolds.
