Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Identifying a predictive relationship between maximal flow rate and viscosity for subcutaneous administration of macromolecules with recombinant human hyaluronidase PH20 in a miniature pig model

open access: yesDrug Delivery, 2023
Subcutaneous (SC) infusion of large volumes at rapid flow rates has historically been limited by the glycosaminoglycan hyaluronan (HA), which forms a barrier to bulk fluid flow in the SC space. Recombinant human hyaluronidase PH20 (rHuPH20) depolymerizes

Human Subcutaneous Adipose Tissue Sampling using a Mini-liposuction Technique [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
Studies on adipose tissue are useful in understanding metabolic and other conditions. Human subcutaneous adipose tissue is accessible. With appropriate training and strict adherence to aseptic technique, subcutaneous adipose samples can be safely and ...

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Mutations in Exons 8 and 11 of c-kit Gene in Canine Subcutaneous Mast Cell Tumors and Their Association with Cell Proliferation

open access: yesVeterinary Sciences, 2022
The prognostic significance of internal tandem duplication (ITD) mutations in exons 8 and 11 of c-kit has been well-described for canine cutaneous mast cell tumors (MCTs), but c-kit mutations have rarely been reported in subcutaneous MCTs.

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Clinical effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion for diabetes : systematic review and economic evaluation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Based on the totality of evidence, using observational studies to supplement the limited data from randomised trials against best MDI, CSII provides some advantages over MDI in T1DM for both children and adults.

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Subcutaneous Panniculitis-like T-Cell Lymphoma Without Erythema and Subcutaneous Tumors [PDF]

open access: yes
We report a case of subcutaneous panniculitis-like T-cell lymphoma with diffuse indurated lesions without erythema. A 27-year-old man was referred to us with a 1-month history of fever, general fatigue and indurated skin lesions.
