Line Subdivision

2005
This paper proposes a new subdivision scheme based on line geometry. We name the scheme ‘line subdivision'. Line subdivision scheme acts on the line space, and generates two-dimensional manifolds contained in the Klein quadric. The two-dimensional manifolds are the Klein images of line congruences in P3.

Subdivision Termination Criteria in Subdivision Multivariate Solvers

2006
The need for robust solutions for sets of non-linear multivariate constraints or equations needs no motivation. Subdivision-based multivariate constraint solvers [1, 2, 3] typically employ the convex hull and subdivision/domain clipping properties of the Bezier/B-spline representation to detect all regions that may contain a feasible solution.

Polynomial Reproduction in Subdivision

Advances in Computational Mathematics, 2004
Subdivision schemes are useful in many parts of approximation theory and in particular in connection with the so-called computer aided geometric design methods for the creation of curves and surfaces. This paper studies such methods in several dimensions and addresses the possibilities of reproducing polynomials exactly from polynomial input data ...

On the subdivision of the genusCeratocystis

Antonie van Leeuwenhoek, 1975
The desirability is discussed of a subdivison of the genus Ceratocystis into a group characterized by the presence of a phialidic conidial state, and a group in which the conidia are usually produced exogenously. Corroborative evidence for this arrangement is found in the carbohydrate constitution of the cells: in all examined species of the former ...

Interpolating Subdivisions from Approximating Subdivisions

Journal of Information and Computational Science, 2013
A subdivision surface is a method of representing a smooth, continuous, seamless surface via the specification of a coarser piecewise linear polygon mesh. In this paper, we propose an innovative unified method for constructing interpolating subdivisions.

ON THE GEOMETRY OF RECURSIVE SUBDIVISION

International Journal of Shape Modeling, 2002
In this paper we investigate the properties of recursive subdivision from a geometric point of view. We explore the connections between subdivision and such areas of mathematics as spherical trigonometry, inversive geometry, and metric spaces. The methods we develop give new insights to well-known subdivision schemes and they can also be used in the ...
