Multiphase Tectonic Process With Slab Dynamics in the Northern East China Sea Shelf Basin
Megasequence 1 characterised by Palaeocene extension and differential subsidence driven by the rollback of the subducting Izanagi Plate. Megasequence 2 records a kinematic reorganisation of the East Asian margin, transition from a rifting to a compressional regime.

Onset of double subduction controls plate motion reorganisation
Face-to-face double subduction systems, in which two oceanic plates subduct toward each other, are essential elements of plate tectonics. Two subduction zones in such systems are typically uneven in age and their spatially and temporally variable ...

Geochemistry of continental subduction-zone fluids [PDF]
The composition of continental subduction-zone fluids varies dramatically from dilute aqueous solutions at subsolidus conditions to hydrous silicate melts at supersolidus conditions, with variable concentrations of fluid-mobile incompatible trace ...

Integrated petrographic, mineralogical and geochemical data from the Hastanetepe Pb–Zn deposit (Balya, Türkiye) reveal multi‐stage hydrothermal alteration and a magmatic sulphur source. Fluid inclusion and sulphur isotope results indicate a complex fluid evolution responsible for skarn‐type Pb–Zn mineralization along limestone–dacite contacts ...

The composition of intrusive rocks suggests that the magma was likely generated in a subduction‐related setting. The arc crustal thickness in the Phnom Sro Ngam and Halo Prospects was probably < 40 km during emplacement. Zircon U–Pb age range indicates a correlation with Loei Fold Belt magmatic activity.

The spatial distribution characteristics of Nb–Ta of mafic rocks in subduction zones
High field-strength elements have been regarded as one of the most important discriminations in subduction zone magma. However, the spatial distribution of Nb and Ta in subduction zone-related rocks has been rarely studied; it is still unclear whether ...

Early zircon saturation and crystallisation occur in mafic (52–54 wt.% SiO2) lavas at Tengchong volcanic field. These early formed zircons with high δ18O (6.6‰–7.9‰) indicates mantle enrichment by subducted supracrustal materials. ABSTRACT Late Pleistocene (< 0.2 Ma) mafic and evolved volcanic rocks occur in northern Tengchong Volcanic Field, SE ...

The study outlines the tectono‐sedimentary evolution of the İnegöl Basin in north‐western Anatolia. Basin formation was controlled by interacting extensional and strike‐slip fault systems linked to uplift of the Uludağ Massif. Terrestrial sedimentation from the Miocene to Pleistocene is reconstructed using abundant fossil mammal assemblages that ...

2021 Alaska earthquake: entropy approach to its precursors and aftershock regimes [PDF]
We have conducted an entropy analysis in Alaska, a seismic-rich region in a subduction zone that exhibits a nontrivial behavior: the subduction arc alters the seismic activity from the eastern zone to the western zone, demonstrating a decrease in ...
