Although spinal subdural hematoma is a rare condition, it has a higher incidence in persons with a bleeding diathesis and in those with a bleeding diathesis who have had a lumbar puncture. We report a case of a 65-year-old woman on oral anticoagulants presenting with atypical symptoms who developed a spinal subdural hematoma over a six-hour period ...

Subdural hematoma in infancy is indeed a well-known clinical entity, and equally well known is the multiplicity of signs and symptoms of this condition and their lack of specificity, which add to the difficulty of the clinical diagnosis. Consequently, there is frequently a delay in the diagnosis which may be the cause of the poor results of surgical ...

Interhemispheric Subdural Hematoma
Journal of Neurosurgery, 1984We have reported a case of primary interhemispheric subdural hematoma with successful surgical removal. Paresis of the lower extremity out of proportion to the arm and face may provide a clue to the location of the lesion. Although CT is the most valuable single diagnostic procedure, carotid angiography is needed to exclude a vascular lesion.

Subdural Hematoma: Is It or Is It Not Acute?
Radiology, 1974Evaluation of the angiographic appearance of subdural hematomas in 100 patients resulted in a new descriptive category, the “transitional.” Each subdural hematoma was classified as chronic if a membrane was found at surgery, otherwise it was considered acute.

Adjunctive Middle Meningeal Artery Embolization for Subdural Hematoma.
New England Journal of MedicineBACKGROUND Subacute and chronic subdural hematomas are common and frequently recur after surgical evacuation. The effect of adjunctive middle meningeal artery embolization on the risk of reoperation remains unclear.

The authors report a case of subacute spinal subdural hematoma in a patient with ankylosing spondylitis. Only 18 such cases have been reported in the nonradiological literature. Early diagnosis is imperative in order to minimize neurological sequelae.

Subdural hematoma is a relatively common complication of long-term anticoagulation, particularly in the elderly. The combination of anticoagulation and cerebral cortical atrophy is believed to be sufficient to explain the subdural bleeding.

OBJECT The subdural evacuating port system (SEPS; Medtronic, Inc.) is a minimally invasive means of draining subacute or chronic subdural fluid collections. The purpose of this study was to examine a single institution's results with the SEPS.

We report the case of a 68-year-old patient with a traumatic spinal subdural hematoma. MRI demonstrated an area of abnormal intensity and a black line in the inner part of the intradural space. We anticipate that MRI will help to make one more confident in the preoperative diagnosis of spinal subdural hematoma.

Interhemispheric subdural hematoma
The Journal of Emergency Medicine, 1986A case of interhemispheric subdural hematoma (ISH) following closed head injury is reported. Our patient had seizures and mental status changes. Cranial computed tomography (CT) demonstrated areas of increased density along the right side of the falx cerebri and over the right leaf of the tentorium cerebelli.
