Traumatic subdural hygroma in adults
Neurosurgery, 1981Abstract The authors review 25 cases of post-traumatic subdural hygroma in adults and report the findings of computer tomography in 4 cases. There was marked diversity in the severity of injury and in chronicity. The site of the lesion was consistently delineated by angiography, but preoperative differentiation from subdural hematoma was

LOCALIZED CYSTIC SUBDURAL HYGROMA
The Journal of Trauma: Injury, Infection, and Critical Care, 1994We report a new variant of subdural hygroma previously undocumented in the literature. A 29-year-old man had a skull mass and a progressive headache of 6 to 7 years duration. He was involved in a car crash 8 years earlier and had an unrecognized skull fracture. During surgery the lesion was found to be a localized, cystic subdural hygroma communicating

Traumatic acute subdural hygroma mimicking acute subdural hematoma
Journal of Clinical Neuroscience, 2004Subdural hygroma is a frequent delayed complication of head trauma. Most hygromas are clinically 'silent' and a few cases have shown slow deterioration in the chronic stage. We report a case of subdural hygroma showing unique radiological findings and rapid deterioration.

Chronic subdural hematoma preceded by traumatic subdural hygroma
Journal of Clinical Neuroscience, 2008Patients with traumatic subdural hygroma (SDG) are at an increased risk of developing chronic subdural hematoma (CSDH). However, the mechanism by which this occurs is still not fully understood. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the clinical characteristics and pathogenesis of CSDH, as well as the relationship between CSDH and SDG.

Subdural hygroma associated with axillary cystic hygroma
Journal of Pediatric Neurology, 2015We present a case of a 4-month-old girl with a history of a huge axillary cystic hygroma since birth, with elective surgical resection of the lesion and subsequent development of infection at the surgery site. During hospitalization for the infection, she developed seizures, a bulging fontanelle, increased head circumference, and widely separated ...

Superimposed chronic subdural hygromas
Journal of Neurosurgery, 1975✓ Two cases are reported of separate but superimposed chronic subdural collections occurring over one cerebral hemisphere convexity. It is suggested that this phenomenon may account for some apparent recurrences of chronic subdural collections after simple burr-hole evacuation.

Non-traumatic subdural hygroma.
Acta neurologica Belgica, 1990Subdural hygroma consists of a cerebrospinal fluid-like subdural fluid collection with a low oncotic pressure in comparison with venous blood. Its etiology and pathophysiology, which may be different from other subdural fluid collections, are reviewed.
