The population of hot subdwarf stars studied withGaia [PDF]
In preparation for the upcoming all-sky data releases of the Gaia mission we compiled a catalogue of known hot subdwarf stars and candidates drawn from the literature and yet unpublished databases. The catalogue contains 5613 unique sources and provides multi-band photometry from the ultraviolet to the far infrared, ground based proper motions ...

Wide B-type hot subdwarf binaries
Context. Long-period binary systems containing a B-type hot subdwarf (sdB) and a main sequence (MS) companion are thought to originate from binary interactions involving stable mass transfer from the red giant, which is the progenitor of the sdB, to the ...

Evolved stars with a helium core can be formed by non-conservative mass exchange interaction with a companion or by strong mass loss. Their masses are smaller than 0.5 M⊙. In the database of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS), there are several thousand

An additional pulsating mode (7.35 mHz) and pulsations timing variations of PG 1613+426
We present the detection of an additional pulsation mode (7.35 mHz) of a subdwarf B star, PG 1613+426, and periodic Observed minus Calculated (O-C) variations for two existing pulsations. PG 1613+426 is near the hot end of the sdB instability strip.

Constraining Roche-Lobe Overflow Models Using the Hot-Subdwarf Wide Binary Population
One of the important issues regarding the final evolution of stars is the impact of binarity. A rich zoo of peculiar, evolved objects are born from the interaction between the loosely bound envelope of a giant, and the gravitational pull of a companion ...

Radii of 88 M subdwarfs and updated radius relations for low-metallicity M-dwarf stars [PDF]
M subdwarfs are low-metallicity M dwarfs that typically inhabit the halo population of the Galaxy. Metallicity controls the opacity of stellar atmospheres; in metal-poor stars, hydrostatic equilibrium is reached at a smaller radius, leading to smaller ...

The Arizona-Montréal Spectroscopic Survey of hot subluminous stars★
Context. Hot subdwarf B (sdB) and O (sdO) type stars are evolved helium-burning objects that lost their hydrogen envelope before the helium flash when their progenitors were close to the tip of the red giant branch (RGB).

New Pulse Timing Measurements of the sdBV Star CS 1246
CS 1246 is a hot subdwarf B star discovered in 2009 to exhibit a single, large-amplitude radial pulsation. An O-C diagram constructed from this mode revealed reflex motion due to the presence of a low-mass M dwarf, as well as a long-term trend consistent

The SALT survey of helium-rich hot subdwarfs: final sample and classification [PDF]
A medium-resolution spectroscopic survey of helium-rich hot subdwarfs has been carried out using the Southern African Large Telescope. Objectives include the discovery of exotic hot subdwarfs, resolving distinct subclasses, identifying evolutionary ...

Spectroscopic follow-up of hot subdwarf variables found in ZTF
Context. Hot subdwarf variables (sdBVs) that display large-amplitude (> 1%) short-period variability as a result of radial-mode pulsations have recently become objects of interest, as they show unique properties among the sdBV classes.
