Root coverage using subepithelial connective tissue graft

open access: yesThe Journal of the Korean Academy of Periodontology, 2008
Purpose: One of the main objectives of periodontal reconstructive surgery is the coverage of exposed roots that occur due to gingival recession. and Aestheic concerns are usually the reason to perform root coverage procedure. This case report was performed to evaluate the effect of root coverage using subepithelial connective tissue graft(SCTG) on ...

Multiple root coverage with subepithelial connective tissue graft, 8-year follow-up: A case report

open access: yesMexican Journal of Medical Research ICSA
Some of the challenges of root coverage with connective tissue graft are donor site morbidity and patient discomfort from the surgical procedure, as well as poor patient cooperation in correcting and controlling precipitating and predisposing factors of ...

Connective tissue graft vs. emdogain: A new approach to compare the outcomes

open access: yesDental Research Journal, 2013
Background: The aim of this clinical trial study was to clinically evaluate the use of enamel matrix protein derivative combined with the coronally positioned flap to treat gingival recession compared to the subepithelial connective tissue graft by a new

A comparative clinical study of the efficacy of subepithelial connective tissue graft and acellular dermal matrix graft in root coverage: 6-month follow-up observation

open access: yesJournal of Indian Society of Periodontology, 2013
Aims: The purpose of this study was to compare the clinical efficacy of subepithelial connective tissue graft and acellular dermal matrix graft associated with coronally repositioned flap in the treatment of Miller′s class I and II gingival recession, 6 ...

Clinical evaluation of expanded mesh connective tissue graft in the treatment for multiple adjacent gingival recessions in the esthetic zone

open access: yesContemporary Clinical Dentistry, 2015
Background: Multiple approaches have been used to replace lost, damaged or diseased gingival tissues. The connective tissue graft (CTG) procedure is the golden standard method for root coverage.

Real‐Time In Vivo Monitoring of Anastomotic Intestinal Ischemia Using Implantable Resorbable Organic Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Resorbable impedance sensors are successfully implanted into porcine small intestinal anastomoses. Impedance was recorded for 2 hours prior, and 2 hours following ischemia induction, and a significant drop in tissue impedance was observed. Abstract Anastomotic failure remains one of the most severe complications in gastrointestinal surgery.

Porcine collagen matrix for treating gingival recession. Randomized clinical trial.

open access: yesJournal of Oral Research, 2014
Achieving root coverage after exposure caused by gingival recession is one of the main goals of reconstructive periodontal surgery. Even though a large variety of techniques and mucogingival grafting procedures are available, their long-term results are ...

The effect of different soft-tissue management techniques for alveolar ridge preservation: a randomized controlled clinical trial

open access: yesInternational Journal of Implant Dentistry, 2021
Purpose For alveolar ridge preservation, various treatment protocols have been described. While most studies focus on the effect of the bone graft material, the aim of this study was to analyze the influence of different soft-tissue management techniques

Submerged Technique of Partially De-Epithelialized Free Gingival Grafts for Gingival Phenotype Modification in the Maxillary Anterior Region: A Case Report of a 34-Year Follow-up

open access: yesMedicina, 2023
A coronally advanced flap combined with a subepithelial connective tissue graft is considered the gold standard for achieving root coverage on exposed root surfaces. Nevertheless, challenges arise when this technique is applied to multiple teeth and when

First Successful Regeneration of a Structurally Native‐Like Colon Using a Bioabsorbable Polymer Sheet

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
This study demonstrated that a bioabsorbable polymer sheet (BAPS) can regenerate approximately half the circumference of the colon with native‐like structure and function in an experimental setting. As the model involved immediate closure after perforation and did not reproduce peritonitis, caution is required when considering clinical applicability ...
