Immunohistological Evaluation of Peri‐Implant Soft Tissue Grafting Using a Porcine Dermal Matrix—A Human Histological Study

open access: yesClinical Oral Implants Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction The aim was the immunohistological evaluation of a porcine dermal matrix (PDM) in comparison to a non‐augmented control group for peri‐implant tissue thickening. Materials and Methods This human histological study involved the placement of PDM in the test group (20 patients) during implant placement, while the control group ...

Optimizing Gingival Biotype Using Subepithelial Connective Tissue Graft: A Case Report and One-Year Followup

open access: yesCase Reports in Dentistry, 2011
Gingival recession is the exposure of root surfaces due to apical migration of the gingival tissue margins. The principal objectives of treating a gingival recession are to achieve better esthetics and reduce hypersensitivity.

Effect of Connective Tissue Graft as an Adjunct to Guided Bone Regeneration in the Surgical Treatment of Peri‐Implantitis: A Dual‐Center Randomized Controlled Trial

open access: yesClinical Oral Implants Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives To evaluate whether adding a connective tissue graft (CTG) to guided bone regeneration (GBR) improves clinical and radiographic outcomes in surgical peri‐implantitis treatment. Materials and Methods Thirty‐two patients with peri‐implantitis were randomly assigned to receive GBR and CTG (test group, TG) or GBR alone (control group ...

Comparative clinical evaluation of laterally positioned pedicle graft and subepithelial connective tissue graft in the treatment of Miller's Class I and II gingival recession: A 6 months study

open access: yesJournal of Indian Society of Periodontology, 2015
Aim: The purpose of the study was to compare clinical outcomes of laterally positioned pedicle graft (LPPG) and subepithelial connective tissue graft (SCTG) for treatment of Miller's Class I and II gingival recession defects, at the end of 6 months ...

Substance‐Gain Extrusion Technique (SGET) in Combination With BOPT—Technique Description

open access: yesJournal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective The restoration of teeth with deep subgingival fractures poses a significant challenge, often requiring extensive interventions such as orthodontic extrusion or implant therapy. This manuscript aims to introduce and describe the substance‐gain extrusion technique (SGET) as a minimally invasive alternative that enables the ...

Optimizing Hard and Soft‐Tissue Esthetics With Anterior Cantilever Zirconia Ceramic Resin‐Bonded Fixed Dental Prostheses

open access: yesJournal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective The replacement of missing maxillary lateral incisors poses both functional and esthetic challenges, not only from a restorative but also from a periodontal aspect. This case report presents a step‐by‐step protocol for ideal hard and soft‐tissue esthetics with cantilever zirconia ceramic resin‐bonded fixed dental prostheses (RBFDPs).

Subepithelial connective tissue graft in the management of gingival recession: A 4-year follow-up of a case

open access: yesNigerian Journal of Medicine, 2019
Gingival recession may cause aesthetic challenge for affected individuals, which may be the reason for definitive treatment. Other possible side effect is that because of the exposure of the root surface, it may predispose to root caries and dentinal ...

Exostosis following a subepithelial connective tissue graft.

open access: yesJournal of the International Academy of Periodontology, 2003
This case report describes the formation of an unusual unaesthetic gingival enlargement during a five year post operative period subsequent to a subepithelial connective tissue graft placed facial to teeth #4 and #6. Histological assessment of the enlarged tissue indicated that it consisted of viable bone and marrow.
