We investigated urban Drosophila communities in Vienna using ~18,000 specimens collected with citizen scientists, identifying 13 species including two new records for Austria (D. mercatorum and D. virilis). Compared to surveys 30 years ago, species richness has declined by more than 50%, with formerly common species replaced by neobiotic taxa.

High genetic diversity was detected in 539 B. kashmirensis individuals from 36 populations in Qinghai Province using 15 SSR markers. A new Inocybe (Inocybaceae) species, Inocybe alboaurantiaca, is described and illustrated from Asia (Japan and Pakistan), based on morphological and phylogenetic analyses of the nrITS and nrLSU regions. The median PCV of poor body‐conditioned animals is below 20 (anaemic) compared to corresponding body‐condition animals. Black‐ and red‐coloured animals are more significantly affected by trypanosomosis than white‐coloured animals. Multivariable logistic regression revealed more about contributory factors than univariable logistic regression.
