Revision of the Tribe Bythinini (Staphylinidae, Pselaphinae) From Korea With Molecular Phylogeny

open access: yesZoologica Scripta, Volume 55, Issue 1, Page 131-144, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Although three genera of Bythinini are known from East Asia, Bythoxenites Jeannel, Bryaxis Kugelann and Tychobythinus Ganglbauer, only Bryaxis has been reported in Korea, and no phylogenetic research has been conducted. We report new records of the genus Tychobythinus in Korea and describe T. rasiligulus sp. n.

Moving Beyond Morphology: Genomic Insights Into Evolutionary Histories of Haplosclerid Sponges

open access: yesZoologica Scripta, Volume 55, Issue 1, Page 177-194, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Accurate taxonomic identification is essential for defining species boundaries and understanding biodiversity. However, this remains challenging for groups where morphological character evolution is poorly understood or diagnostic traits are absent.

DESCRIPTION OF SUBGENUS PARDOMYIA THEOBALD AND COMPARISON WITH THE NOMINOTYPICAL SUBGENUS OF MUCIDUS THEOBALD (DIPTERA: CULICIDAE: AEDINI)

open access: yesJournal of the American Mosquito Control Association, 2006
Pardomyia is validated as a subgenus of Mucidus and primary characters are given to separate it from the nominotypical subgenus. All life stages of the subgenus are described. The subgenus occurs in the Oriental and Australasian Regions and includes Mu. aurantius aurantius, Mu. aurantius chrysogaster, Mu. painei, and Mu. quadripunctis.
