Features of Epstein–Barr Virus and Cytomegalovirus Reactivation in Acute Leukemia Patients After Haplo-HCT With Myeloablative ATG-Containing Conditioning Regimen

open access: yesFrontiers in Cellular and Infection Microbiology, 2022
BackgroundHaploidentical donor hematopoietic cell transplantation (haplo-HCT) has become a preferred option for patients without HLA-matched donors, but it increases the risk of viral reactivations.

Twisted Alexander Polynomials and Representation Shifts

open access: yes, 2007
For any knot, the following are equivalent. (1) The infinite cyclic cover has uncountably many finite covers; (2) there exists a finite-image representation of the knot group for which the twisted Alexander polynomial vanishes; (3) the knot group admits ...

On $T$-characterized subgroups of compact Abelian groups

open access: yes, 2015
We say that a subgroup $H$ of an infinite compact Abelian group $X$ is {\it $T$-characterized} if there is a $T$-sequence $\mathbf{u} =\{u_n \}$ in the dual group of $X$ such that $H=\{x\in X: \; (u_n, x)\to 1 \}$.

Next‐generation proteomics improves lung cancer risk prediction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This is one of very few studies that used prediagnostic blood samples from participants of two large population‐based cohorts. We identified, evaluated, and validated an innovative protein marker model that outperformed an established risk prediction model and criteria employed by low‐dose computed tomography in lung cancer screening trials.

Down‐regulation of Shh in the hair follicles of mice during chemotherapy‐induced hair loss is mediated by the JAK/STAT1 signaling pathway

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We found that during chemotherapy‐induced alopecia (CIA), Sonic hedgehog (Shh) expression significantly decreased in hair follicle Shh+ cells, whereas the Janus‐activated kinase/signal transducer and activator of transcription 1 (JAK/STAT1) signaling pathway was markedly activated.

Prognostic value of the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio and prognostic nutritional index in unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma patients treated with tyrosine kinase inhibitors and immune checkpoint inhibitors

open access: yesHuman Vaccines & Immunotherapeutics
This study aimed to investigate the role of the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and prognostic nutritional index (PNI) in unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients treated with tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) and immune checkpoint ...
