Linear Mechatronic Modeling of Rectangular Tank Sloshing Dynamics

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mechanical System Dynamics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Sloshing dynamics in partially filled tanks can strongly influence system‐level behavior when fluid motion couples with rigid‐body dynamics. This paper presents a linear and acausal two‐dimensional sloshing model for rectangular tanks, based on the reformulation of established sloshing theory within a modular, multi‐domain modeling framework ...

Dynamic Analysis of Electrically Assisted Turbocharger Rotor Considering Contact Effects in Nut Structures

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mechanical System Dynamics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The rotor system of an electrically assisted turbocharger (EAT) is composed of multiple shaft components; The nonlinear connection and contact effects make it difficult to determine the system dynamic characteristics. To improve the modeling accuracy of EAT rotor system and evaluate the influence of contact between multi‐axis components and ...

Microbubble‐Based Ultrasound Contrast Agents in Contrast‐Enhanced Ultrasonography for Managing Portal Hypertension in Cirrhosis

open access: yesPortal Hypertension &Cirrhosis, EarlyView.
As the hepatic venous pressure gradient (HVPG) remains the current gold standard for diagnosing portal hypertension in cirrhosis, its clinical application is limited by invasiveness, high cost, and restricted availability. Given the urgent need for noninvasive techniques to dynamically monitor portal vein pressure (PVP), contrast‐enhanced ...

Subharmonics of any order in nonlinear systems of one degree of freedom: application to subharmonics of order 1/3

open access: yes, 1958
This paper consists of two parts. In the first one we discuss the subharmonics of any order in the case where the nonlinearity enters in the elastic forces. The basic differential equation is with coefficients not necessarily small.

Climate‐Driven Mangrove Dieback and Recovery: A Case Study in Albert and Leichhardt Rivers, Australia

open access: yesRemote Sensing in Ecology and Conservation, EarlyView.
Cycles of dieback and recovery drove mangrove forest dynamics at the Albert and Leichhardt Rivers (Gulf of Carpentaria, Queensland, Australia) over 36 years (1987–2023). Landward margins were the most affected by reduced tidal inundation when the alignment of low lunar declination suppressed tidal range and extreme El Niño phases lowered mean sea level.

Noninvasive Focal Gene Delivery into the Cerebellum of Non‐Human Primates using Focused Ultrasound

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 37, 3 July 2026.
Focal and non‐invasive viral vector delivery in non‐human primates remains a major challenge in translational neuroscience. Low‐intensity focused ultrasound was used to transiently open the blood–brain barrier and enable targeted gene delivery to the cerebellum.

Speed Variation of a Cage Induction Motor under Square Voltage Modulation

open access: yesScientific Journal of Gdynia Maritime University
Cyclic voltage fluctuations can be considered as a superposition of the fundamental voltage component, subharmonic and interharmonic components – that is the components of frequency less than the fundamental one or not being its integer multiple.

Enhancement of Subharmonic Intensity in a Cavity Filled with Bubbly Liquid Through Its Nonlinear Resonance Shift

open access: yesAcoustics
The aim of this study is to examine the behavior of subharmonics in a one-dimensional cavity filled with a bubbly liquid, leveraging the nonlinear softening phenomenon of the medium at high amplitudes to enhance subharmonic generation.

Chaotic dynamics in the Volterra predator-prey model via linked twist maps [PDF]

open access: yesOpuscula Mathematica, 2008
We prove the existence of infinitely many periodic solutions and complicated dynamics, due to the presence of a topological horseshoe, for the classical Volterra predator-prey model with a periodic harvesting.
