Estimating ambiguity aversion in a portfolio choice experiment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We report a laboratory experiment that enables us to estimate four prominent models of ambiguity aversion — Subjective Expected Utility (SEU), Maxmin Expected Utility (MEU), Recursive Expected Utility (REU), and α-Maxmin Expected Utility (α-MEU) — at the

BMPCQA: Bioinspired Metaverse Point Cloud Quality Assessment Based on Large Multimodal Models

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This study presents a bioinspired metaverse point cloud quality assessment metric, which simulates the human visual evaluation process to perform the point cloud quality assessment task. It first extracts rendering projection video features, normal image features, and point cloud patch features, which are then fed into a large multimodal model to ...

Students' expectations of the economic returns to college education Results of a controlled experiment [PDF]

open access: yes
This study reports the results of an experiment designed to elicit students' subjective beliefs about the economic returns to college education. An important feature of our experimental design is the inclusion of financial incentives for accurate ...

Subjective Depth-of-Focus of the Eye [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
: An experiment is described in which the subjective depth-of-focus (DOF) of the eye, defined as the range of focussing errors for which the image of the target appears to have the same clarity, contrast, and form as the optimal in-focus image, was ...

NIRGB‐GS: Near‐Infrared Assisted Low‐Light Scene Reconstruction and Enhancement via Gaussian Splatting

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This article proposes NIRGB‐GS, a multimodal 3DGS variant that enables reliable 3D reconstruction and normal‐light novel‐view synthesis for extremely low‐light scenes by fusing paired near‐infrared and noisy RGB captures. High‐SNR near‐infrared modality and modality‐specific appearance encoding together resolve the issues of unstable pose/geometry ...

The interaction of oxytocin and nicotine addiction on psychosocial stress: an fMRI study

open access: yesTranslational Psychiatry
The anxiolytic effect of oxytocin (OXT) on psychosocial stress has been well documented, but the effectiveness under the interference of other factors still requires in-depth research.

The Hedonistic Paradox: Is Homo Economicus Happier? [PDF]

open access: yes
The “Hedonistic Paradox” states that homo economicus, or someone who seeks happiness for him- or herself, will not find it, but the person who helps others will. This study examines two questions in connection with happiness and generosity.

VALIANT: A Vision‐Authenticity Language Framework Through Integrated Experts and Aligned Numerical‐Textual Descriptors for Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Visual features, numerical descriptors, and controlled textual attributes extracted from smartphone images of Chenpi are integrated by VALIANT, a tailored multimodal framework for simultaneous storage‐age classification and authenticity verification. The workflow distinguishes genuine products from suspicious standard operating procedure mimics while ...

Driver Behavior Modeling with Subjective Risk‐Driven Inverse Reinforcement Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
A subjective risk‐driven inverse reinforcement learning framework is proposed to model driver decision‐making. It infers drivers' risk perception and risk tolerance from driving data. A learnable risk threshold is used to regulate decisions, enabling interpretable and human‐like driving behavior decisions.

Biomimetic 3D Tactile Sensor System With Neuromorphic Encoding for Fascicle‐Level Feedback

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
A 3D biomimetic tactile sensor system converts skin‐like mechanical interactions into neural stimulation‐ready spike patterns. Embedded slow‐ and fast‐adapting sensors distinguish sustained pressure from transient touch, while neuromorphic encoding preserves their temporal signatures.
