Facility Location in the Sublinear Geometric Model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
In the sublinear geometric model, we are provided with an oracle access to a point set P of n points in a bounded discrete space [Δ]², where Δ = n^O(1) is a polynomially bounded number in n. That is, we do not have direct access to the points, but we can

Flexoelectric Suppression of Interfacial Carrier Loss in BaTiO3 Thin‐Film Bulk Photovoltaic Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In single‐crystalline BaTiO3 thin films, flexoelectric strain gradients strongly enhance photocurrent by suppressing interfacial carrier loss. Loading experiments reveal a ∼35‐fold photocurrent increase with applied force. Self‐consistent electrostatic modeling shows that strain gradients reshape the interfacial potential landscape, strengthen local ...

A note on sublinear separators and expansion [PDF]

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Combinatorics, 2021
For a hereditary class C of graphs, let s_C(n) be the minimum function such that each n-vertex graph in C has a balanced separator of order at most s_C(n), and let nabla_C(r) be the minimum function bounding the expansion of C, in the sense of bounded expansion theory of Nešetřil and Ossona de Mendez.

Positive and monotone solutions of an m-point boundary-value problem

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2002
We study the second-order ordinary differential equation $$ y''(t)=-f(t,y(t),y'(t)),quad 0leq tleq 1, $$ subject to the multi-point boundary conditions $$ alpha y(0)pm eta y'(0)=0,quad y(1)=sum_{i=1}^{m-2}alpha_iy(xi_i),.

Enhanced Synthesis of Cs2AgBiBr6 Single Crystals via Controlled Cooling for Enhanced Dual‐Band Light Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents a dual‐band photodetector based on the large‐scale, precise synthesis of Cs2AgBiBr6 single crystals. A rapid and efficient synthesis method is demonstrated, yielding high‐quality Cs2AgBiBr6 crystals with an average size of 2 × 2 × 1.5 mm3 and a production yield of 12.66%.

Quasilinear problems with two parameters including superlinear and gradient terms

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2014
In this article, we establish conditions for the existence of solutions for a quasilinear elliptic two-parameter problem with dependence on the gradient term in smooth bounded domains or in the whole space R^N.

A Strong Law of Large Numbers for Weighted Sums of i.i.d. Random Variables under Capacities

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2014
With the notion of independent identically distributed (i.i.d.) random variables under sublinear expectations initiated by Peng, a strong law of large numbers for weighted sums of i.i.d. random variables under capacities induced by sublinear expectations

Testing hereditary properties of nonexpanding bounded-degree graphs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We study graph properties that are testable for bounded-degree graphs in time independent of the input size. Our goal is to distinguish between graphs having a predetermined graph property and graphs that are far from every graph having that property. It

Competing Charge Separation Pathways Govern Charge Generation in Organic Photovoltaic Blends: Insights From Transient Electron Spin Resonance

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Transient electron spin resonance distinguishes interfacial charge‐transfer states from separated charges, revealing competing charge separation pathways in organic photovoltaic blends. The relative contributions of fast charge separation and a pathway mediated by spin‐polarized charge‐transfer states vary across different blends, with high‐efficiency ...

On positive solutions for classes of quasilinear singular problems

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations
We study classes of quasilinear singular problems, involving the $p$-Laplacian operator and a potential, with homogeneous Dirichlet boundary condition. First, we prove the existence and regularity of positive solutions to a purely singular problem. Then,
