Notes on point-free real functions and sublocales
Using the technique of sublocales we present a survey of some known facts (with a few new ones added) on point-free real functions. The subjects treated are, e.g., images and preimages, semicontinuity, algebraic structure (point-free real arithmetics), zero and cozero parts, z-embeddings, z-open and z-closed maps, disconnectivity, small sublocales and ...

The lattice of sublocales of a locale, unlike the lattice of subspaces of a space, is not in general a Boolean algebra. It is not even a frame; but it is the dual of a frame, and so may be identified with the lattice of closed sublocales of another locale, called the dissolution of the original locale.

Axiom $T_D$ and the Simmons sublocale theorem [PDF]
Summary: More precisely, we are analyzing some of H. Simmons, S. B. Niefield and K. I. Rosenthal results concerning sublocales induced by subspaces. \textit{H. Simmons} [Proc. Edinb. Math. Soc., II. Ser. 21, 41--48 (1978; Zbl 0396.54014); Colloq. Math. 43, 23--39 (1980; Zbl 0459.54024)] was concerned with the question when the coframe of sublocales is ...

Complemented sublocales and open maps
The main purpose of this paper is to answer a question posed by \textit{W. Tholen}: is it possible to characterize the open maps in the category of locales as those morphisms \(f\) such that pullback along \(f\) preserves closures of sublocales? So, the authors show that the answer to Tholen's question is negative: there are locales maps \(f\) such ...

More on locales in which every open sublocale is z-embedded
Locales in which every open sublocale is \(z\)-embedded are called \textit{Oz-locales}. They were introduced by \textit{B. Banaschewski} and \textit{C. Gilmour} [``Oz revisited'', in: H. Herrlich (ed.) and H.-E. Porst (ed.), Proceedings of the conference on categorical methods in algebra and topology. Bremen: Universität Bremen.
