A condition closely mimicking IgG4-related disease despite the absence of serum IgG4 elevation and IgG4-positive plasma cell infiltration [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We describe a 74-year-old Japanese man with systemic fibroinflammatory conditions closely resembling those of immunoglobulin G4-related disease (IgG4-RD).

Gland Segmentation Via Dual Encoders and Boundary-Enhanced Attention [PDF]

open access: yesICASSP 2024 - 2024 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP), Seoul, Korea, Republic of, 2024, pp. 2345-2349,
Accurate and automated gland segmentation on pathological images can assist pathologists in diagnosing the malignancy of colorectal adenocarcinoma. However, due to various gland shapes, severe deformation of malignant glands, and overlapping adhesions between glands. Gland segmentation has always been very challenging.

Prognostic Effect of Neck Dissection and Risk Factors for Occult Lymph Node Metastasis in cN0 Parotid Carcinoma

open access: yesCancer Innovation, Volume 4, Issue 3, June 2025.
For cN0 parotid carcinoma, preventive neck dissection may prolong PFS of higher grade tumor types or low‐ and moderate‐differentiation PC, although it does not improve OS. Therefore, neck dissection should be performed in these cohorts. ABSTRACT Objective This study aimed to explore the prognostic effect of neck dissection and to identify risk factors ...

Tonin in rat heart with experimental hypertrophy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
The present study was undertaken to determine tonin expression and activity in rat heart presenting isoproterenol-induced hypertrophy. Renin, angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE), and angiotensinogen (AG) expression were also determined.

Evaluation of a Novel Quantitative Multiparametric MR Sequence for Radiation Therapy Treatment Response Assessment [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Purpose: To evaluate a Deep-Learning-enhanced MUlti-PArametric MR sequence (DL-MUPA) for treatment response assessment for brain metastases patients undergoing stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) and head-and-neck (HnN) cancer patients undergoing conventionally fractionation adaptive radiation therapy.

Management of Clinically Node‐Negative Salivary Gland Cancer: Observation, Neck Dissection, or Neck Irradiation?

open access: yesHead &Neck, Volume 47, Issue 6, Page 1612-1620, June 2025.
ABSTRACT Introduction Salivary gland malignancies are heterogeneous tumors with highly variable outcomes. Elective neck management options include observation, neck dissection (ND), and neck irradiation (NI). We sought to compare outcomes of cN0 salivary gland cancer by elective neck management.

3D Organoid Formation from the Murine Salivary Gland Cell Line SIMS

open access: yesBio-Protocol, 2019
Salivary glands consist of multiple phenotypically and functionally unique cell populations, such as the acinar, ductal, and myoepithelial cells that help produce, modify, and secrete saliva (Lombaert et al., 2011).

Phase II Trial of Hypofractionated Radiotherapy and Immunochemotherapy in Primary Refractory Diffuse Large B‐Cell Lymphoma: Preliminary Results and Insights from Digital Spatial Profiling

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 6, Issue 6, June 2025.
This prospective study evaluates hypofractionated radiotherapy combined with zimberelimab in primary refractory DLBCL. A 61.5% complete response rate was achieved in the first stage. Digital spatial profiling analysis revealed T cell–lymphoma interactions and linked T cell infiltration to resistance.

Aspects on the management of salivary gland mucoepidermoid carcinoma in Finland [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
According to the Finnish Cancer Registry, salivary gland cancer (SGC) is rare, with approximately 50 to 60 new cases in Finland annually. For pediatric patients, the Finnish Cancer Registry reported 15 new cases between 1990 and 2009.
