Catechol Derivative‐Based Bioadhesives: Molecular Design for Precision Medical Adhesion
This study utilizes tree‐inspired side‐chain engineering to graft five catechol derivatives onto PVA, systematically revealing how side‐chain length and substituents regulate adhesion and cohesion properties. Among them, the PVA‐CA patch demonstrates superior tissue adhesion, biocompatibility, and promotes regeneration, establishing a programmable ...

Submarine landslides in the Santa Barbara Channel as potential tsunami sources [PDF]
Recent investigations using the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institutes (MBARI) Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs) 'Ventana' and 'Tiburon' and interpretation of MBARI's EM 300 30 kHz multibeam bathymetric data show that the northern flank of the Santa ...

Surface Plasmon Enhanced Photoluminescence of Carbon Dots Formed In Situ on Silver Gratings
Carbon emitters formed in situ on a silver grating via plasmonic catalysis yield enhanced spontaneous emission by preferential radiative decay into surface plasmons. Enhancement manifests as emission exhibiting characteristics of coherence (polarization, directionality), and accelerated lifetimes of ∼30 ps, yielding Purcell factors of ∼70.

Maize Anther Development Involves Translated Open Reading Frames From 3′ Untranslated Regions
This study examined the translation activity across ten stages of maize anther development, integrating transcriptome and small‐peptide data. It linked mutations in translated 3' ORFs to anther sterility, exemplified by Zm00001eb417050_3' ORF (known as APV1). In addition, the data indicated that maize anthers could assimilate CO2 through the stomata in
