Design and Fabrication of High Dielectric GRIN Lens for a Directive Antenna Using a Hybrid Filled Voxel Additive Manufacturing Technique

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Hybrid‐filled voxel AM enables integration of high‐permittivity materials into additively manufactured devices. Using this approach, a graded refractive index (GRIN) lens is demonstrated, achieving a 50% antenna size reduction with enhanced directivity.

Stratigraphic and tectonic control of deep-water scarp accumulation in Paleogene synorogenic basins: a case study of the Súľov Conglomerates (Middle Váh Valley, Western Carpathians)

open access: yesGeologica Carpathica, 2017
The Súľov Conglomerates represent mass-transport deposits of the Súľov-Domaniža Basin. Their lithosomes are intercalated by claystones of late Thanetian (Zones P3 - P4), early Ypresian (Zones P5 - E2) and late Ypresian to early Lutetian (Zones E5 - E9 ...

Late Miocene to early Pliocene stratigraphic record in northern Taranaki Basin: Condensed sedimentation ahead of Northern Graben extension and progradation of the modern continental margin [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
The middle Pliocene-Pleistocene progradation of the Giant Foresets Formation in Taranaki Basin built up the modern continental margin offshore from western North Island.

Constraining the sedimentology and stratigraphy of submarine intraslope lobe deposits using exhumed examples from the Karoo Basin, South Africa [PDF]

open access: yesSedimentary Geology, 2015
Intraslope lobe deposits provide a record of the infill of accommodation on submarine slopes and their recognition enables the accurate reconstruction of the stratigraphic evolution of submarine slope systems. Extensive exposures of discrete sand-prone packages in Units D/E and E, Fort Brown Formation, Karoo Basin, South Africa, permit analysis of the ...

Ultrabroadband Excitation of Hot Carriers in Plasmonic Nanorods Revealed by Two‐Dimensional Electronic Spectroscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
This work dissects the ultrafast response of polydisperse plasmonic nanorods using two‐dimensional electronic spectroscopy, uniquely combining temporal and spectral resolution. Our ultrabroadband pulses cover both transverse and longitudinal nanorods’ resonances, revealing sub‐200‐fs dynamics and distinct broadening mechanisms.

Growth history of fault-related folds and interaction with seabed channels in the toe-thrust region of the deep-water Niger delta [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The deep-water fold and thrust belt of the southern Niger Delta has prominent thrusts and folds oriented perpendicular to the regional slope that formed as a result of the thin-skinned gravitational collapse of the delta above overpressured shale.

The Mitochondrial Guardian α‐Amyrin Mitigates Alzheimer's Disease Pathology via Modulation of the DLK‐SARM1‐ULK1 Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Dietary habits play a key role in chronic diseases, and higher annual consumption of fruit and vegetable may lower risk of dementia. Artificial intelligence predicts the lipid‐like compound α‐Amyrin (αA) from plants with edible peels as a drug candidate against Alzheimer's disease.

Which Triggers Produce the Most Erosive, Frequent, and Longest Runout Turbidity Currents on Deltas? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Subaerial rivers and turbidity currents are the two most voluminous sediment transport processes on our planet, and it is important to understand how they are linked offshore from river mouths.
