Movements Of Submarine Pipelines Close To Platforms

Offshore Technology Conference, 1981
Abstract An analytical model of expansion movements at the ends of pipelines is developed. A comparison with measurements on two North Sea pipelines shows that the analysis is consistent with observed behaviour, and can be used to assess the results of corrective action.

Buckle Propagation in Submarine Pipelines

Journal of Engineering Mechanics, 1992
A relatively simple approach is first presented for the approximate analysis of the collapse of circular rings under external pressure. It accounts for geometrical and material nonlinearities, and is able to approximate the precollapse and postcollapse behaviors of rings.

Lateral·stability Of Submarine Pipelines

Offshore Technology Conference, 1977
ABSTRACT The upper bound approach of the theory of perfect plasticity has been applied to develop a method for geotechnical stability analysis of unburied submarine pipelines. The coefficient of? lateral resistance of the soil and the corresponding displacements of the pipe depend on seven geometrical, loading and ...

Elastic Analysis of Submarine Pipelines

Journal of Structural Engineering, 1992
A submarine pipeline is idealized as a linearly elastic continuous beam subjected to vertical loads, and supported on a discretized frictionless seafloor profile. The structural analysis of this beam is considered as a unilateral contact problem. This paper presents two analytic solutions for the analysis problem under the small displacement assumption,

Submarine pipeline routing software

Computers & Structures, 1995
Routing of the pipeline is a very important aspect to be considered in the design and installation of submarine pipelines. Depending on the bathymetric conditions and the pipeline characteristic features, the bending stresses on the pipeline varies. These stresses will change and hence the design stresses on the pipeline cannot be taken as constant. To
