Hardness prediction based on microstructure evolution and residual stress evaluation during high tensile thick plate butt welding

open access: yesInternational Journal of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering, 2020
Two High Tensile Strength Steel (EH47) plates with thickness of 70 mm were butt-welded together by multi-pass Submerged Arc Welding (SAW), also the hardness and welding residual stress were investigated experimentally.

Permeability of submerged arc welding flux.

open access: yesJournal of the Society of Materials Science, Japan, 1985
Relationship between gas permeability and grain size of submerged arc welding (SAW) fluxes has been investigated to get information for the analysis of SAW process. SiO2-CaO-MgO glassy flux and SiO2-MnO porous flux were examined using a flux bed (50-mm-diameter and 50-mm-height) and nitrogen current to obtain the permeability by the D'Arcys' law ...

Numerical Simulation of Sound‐Side Barrier‐Island Inundation and Breaching During Hurricane Dorian (2019)

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Earth Surface, Volume 130, Issue 6, June 2025.
Abstract Hurricane‐induced morphological changes and associated community hazards along sandy, barrier‐island coastlines have been studied primarily from the perspective of ocean‐side attack by storm‐driven ocean surge and large waves. Thus, our understanding of long‐term barrier island morphological change focuses on beach erosion, overwash, and inlet

Influence of Specific Ball‐Milling Energy on Mechanical and Corrosion Properties of Zn–0.2 Graphene Nanoplatelet Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 7, April 2025.
In this study, the effect of specific ball‐milling energy (SBME) on the mechanical and corrosion properties of graphene nanoplatelets (GNPs) Zn matrix composites is presented. GNPs are uniformly dispersed in the Zn powder mixtures at the optimal SBME of 32.82 kJ g−1.

SUBMERGED WELDING PROCESS WITH PULSED ARC

open access: yes, 2023
There are considered features of the pulsed arc submerged welding process (PASW). It is shown that the burning arc pulsating nature makes it possible to exert an additional, in comparison with welding with a stationary arc, influence on the physical-chemical processes in the weld pool.
