Wave transformation over submerged permeable breakwater on porous bottom [PDF]

open access: yesOcean Engineering, 2006
A numerical model is presented in this study to investigate the wave transformation over a submerged permeable breakwater on a porous slope seabed. For this purpose, the time-dependent mild-slope equation is newly derived for waves propagating over two layers of porous medium.

Wave interaction with a submerged floating tunnel in the presence of a bottom mounted submerged porous breakwater

Applied Ocean Research, 2020
Abstract A coupled model of wave interaction with a submerged floating sea-tunnel in the presence of a bottom mounted submerged porous breakwater is proposed to study the role of porous breakwater in mitigating wave effects on tunnel. In this study, three configurations of the porous breakwater namely trapezoidal, circular and wedge shapes are ...

Wave characteristics of Bragg reflections from a train of submerged bottom breakwaters

Journal of Hydro-environment Research, 2016
The wave characteristics of Bragg reflections for a train of surface water waves from a series of submerged bottom breakwaters were investigated numerically. A numerical model based on boundary discretization technique was developed to calculate the wave field.

Numerical study on flow structure near two impermeable trapezoid submerged breakwaters on slop bottoms

Journal of Hydrodynamics, 2010
Abstract Studying on hydrodynamic characteristics in water waves propagating over two impermeable trapezoid submerged breakwaters is of great significance to research design and construction of this type of submerged breakwaters. The turbulent characteristics are discussed with cnoidal waves in the wave flume with 1:20 smooth slope.

Performance Evaluation of Bottom-Standing Submerged Breakwaters in Regular Waves Using the Meshless Singular Boundary Method

Journal of Ocean University of China, 2019
In this paper, the improved version of the meshless singular boundary method (ISBM) is developed for analyzing the hydrodynamic performance of bottom-standing submerged breakwaters in regular normally incident waves. Both the single and dual prismatic breakwaters of rectangular and trapezoidal forms are examined.
