Experimental Study On The Performance Of Submerged Breakwater As Shore Protection Structure [PDF]
. In this study the efficiency of the submerged breakwater as shore protection structure has been investigated experimentally. To investigate the performance of the submerged breakwater, experiments are conducted in a two dimensional wave flume which is ...

Minor epic: Notes toward a different “Anthropoetry”
Abstract Anthropologists have often turned to poetry as a means of accessing emotional registers of which conventional academic prose is unable to avail. In doing so, they have tacitly conflated poetry with lyric poetry, today probably the most widely practiced poetic genre, associated in particular with the expression of inner feelings and subjectival

Seaward mangrove edge exhibited significant retreat after extreme disturbances. Rhizophora stylosa exhibited impaired regeneration and root damage in heavily disturbed areas, trait variation primarily responded to elevation and sediment properties, vegetation loss triggered subsidence, creating a positive biogeomorphic feedback loop.

Influence of Submerged Breakwater on Longshore Currents
Submerged breakwater is a kind of commonly used maritime sheltering structures, so it is necessary to accurately grasp the hydrodynamic characteristics before and after the submerged breakwater. Based on the longshore current experiment in harbor, taking the trapezoid submerged breakwater as the research object, this paper analyzes the influence of ...

Submerged modular breakwaters for coastal protection [PDF]
Submerged breakwaters are widely used for establishment and protection of coastal wetlands; nevertheless, construction of breakwaters in the sea domain has always been a challenge to engineers. This research introduces a number of submerged breakwaters that are made of a plurality of rectangular/triangular concrete modules.

Abstract Infragravity (IG) waves play a crucial role in nearshore hydrodynamics and sediment transport; however, their generation and dissipation mechanisms during extreme storms remain challenging to assess due to limited data availability, site‐specific characteristics of natural landscapes, and anthropogenic effects.

Wave transformation over submerged permeable breakwater on porous bottom
A numerical model is presented in this study to investigate the wave transformation over a submerged permeable breakwater on a porous slope seabed. For this purpose, the time-dependent mild-slope equation is newly derived for waves propagating over two ...

Numerical Study on the Effect of a Submerged Breakwater Seaward of an Existing Breakwater for Climate Change Adaptation [PDF]
In coastal areas, climate change is causing mean sea level rise and more frequent storm surge events. This means the breakwaters are expected to withstand the action of more severe incident waves and larger overtopping rates than they were designed for ...

Wave Reflection on Interlocking Concrete Block Submerged Breakwater
When a large dimension of rock needed for an armored layer of breakwater, the scarcity of it became a major adversity, because of that many research subject of using concrete as a substitute for rock performed.
