FastCat: Autonomous Discovery of Multielement Layered Double Hydroxide Alloy Catalysts for Alkaline Oxygen Evolution Reaction

A machine learning‐guided self‐driving laboratory screened over 500 nickel‐based layered double‐hydroxide catalysts for alkaline oxygen evolution. Out of the eight metals, the robot uncovered a quaternary Ni–Fe–Cr–Co catalysts requiring only 231 mV overpotential to reach 20 mA cm−2.

Flow Control for a Submerged Inlet

Abstract Submerged inlets have the advantages of low drag, clean outer profile, and excellent stealth performance. Previous studies indicate that the zones of large total-pressure loss, located at the bottom and top regions of the exit plane, are the main cause of the poor aerodynamic performance in a submerged inlet.

Open channel flows with submerged obstructions

Free-surface flows past a submerged triangular obstacle at the bottom of a channel are considered. The flow is assumed to be steady, two-dimensional and irrotational; the fluid is treated as inviseid and incompressible and gravity is taken into account. The problem is solved numerically by series truncation.
