UDP-glucosyltransferase OsUGT75A promotes submergence tolerance during rice seed germination

open access: yesNature Communications, 2023
Submergence stress represents a major obstacle limiting the application of direct seeding in rice cultivation. Under flooding conditions, coleoptile elongation can function as an escape strategy that contributes to submergence tolerance during seed ...

Progress of Research on Phytohormone Interaction in Germination of Direct-Seeded Rice under Submergence

open access: yesAgronomy, 2022
Due to rainfall, closed weeding of paddy fields and other reasons, submergence stress often occurs during the germination and emergence stages of direct-seeded rice (Oryza sativa L.), which leads to intensified anaerobic respiration, accelerated ...

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

Inhibiting stearoyl‐CoA desaturase suppresses bone metastatic prostate cancer by modulating cellular stress, mTOR signaling, and DNA damage response

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bone metastasis in prostate cancer (PCa) patients is a clinical hurdle due to the poor understanding of the supportive bone microenvironment. Here, we identify stearoyl‐CoA desaturase (SCD) as a tumor‐promoting enzyme and potential therapeutic target in bone metastatic PCa.

Study on the influence of submergence depth on the hydrodynamic and wave load characteristics of semi-submersible structures induced by a solitary wave

open access: yesFrontiers in Marine Science
The submergence depth directly affects the safety of semi-submersible marine structures due to that the submergence depth significantly impacts on the hydrodynamic characteristics and wave loads of structures excited by extreme wave.

PARP inhibitors elicit distinct transcriptional programs in homologous recombination competent castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PARP inhibitors are used to treat a small subset of prostate cancer patients. These studies reveal that PARP1 activity and expression are different between European American and African American prostate cancer tissue samples. Additionally, different PARP inhibitors cause unique and overlapping transcriptional changes, notably, p53 pathway upregulation.

Differential Expression of Maize and Teosinte microRNAs under Submergence, Drought, and Alternated Stress

open access: yesPlants, 2020
Submergence and drought stresses are the main constraints to crop production worldwide. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are known to play a major role in plant response to various stresses.

Modeling hepatic fibrosis in TP53 knockout iPSC‐derived human liver organoids

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.

Experimental Analysis of The Effect of Bandal-like Spur Dike Submergence on Bed Topography In 90 Degree Bend [PDF]

open access: yesعلوم و مهندسی آبیاری, 2018
Spur dikes are one of the coastal protection methods. Bandal- like is a local type of spur dikes that would be constructed to improve the water depth for navigation in alluvial rivers.

Survivin and Aurora Kinase A control cell fate decisions during mitosis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aurora A interacts with survivin during mitosis and regulates its centromeric role. Loss of Aurora A activity mislocalises survivin, the CPC and BubR1, leading to disruption of the spindle checkpoint and triggering premature mitotic exit, which we refer to as ‘mitotic slippage’.
