Response of underwater photosynthesis to light, CO2, temperature, and submergence time of Taxodium distichum, a flood-tolerant tree

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science
IntroductionPartial or complete submergence of trees can occur in natural wetlands during times of high waters, but the submergence events have increased in severity and frequency over the past decades.

Long‐term culture of skin biopsies: maintenance of fibroblast production and competency of reprogramming

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Skin biopsies taken from a patient with an ultra‐rare disorder as well as controls were cultured for up to 473 days. The chunks of skin were serially transferred to a new culture plate when confluent with fibroblasts. Different generations of fibroblasts were analyzed for cell and molecular properties, proliferation, and competence for reprogramming to

Structural and functional alteration of photosynthetic apparatus in rice under submergence [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Stress Physiology & Biochemistry, 2012
Submergence induced alteration of photo-system II (PS II) structure and function was probed using fast O-J-I-P chlorophyll a fluorescence transient and CO2 photo-assimilation rate.

TMC4 localizes to multiple taste cell types in the mouse taste papillae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Transmembrane channel‐like 4 (TMC4), a voltage‐dependent chloride channel, plays a critical role in amiloride‐insensitive salty taste transduction. TMC4 is broadly expressed in all mature taste cell types, suggesting a possible involvement of multiple cell types in this pathway.

Improvement of Photosynthesis by Sub1 QTL in Rice Under Submergence: Probed by Chlorophyll Fluorescence OJIP Transients [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Stress Physiology & Biochemistry, 2011
The influence of submergence on the photosynthetic activity in rice plants either possessing or not possessing Sub1 QTL i.e. Swarna and Swarna Sub1 cultivars (cv.) were evaluated under simulated complete submergence.

Physiological and molecular responses of seedlings of an upland rice (‘Tung Lu 3’) to total submergence compared to those of a submergence-tolerant lowland rice (‘FR13A’)

open access: yesRice, 2017
Background Understanding the responses of rice to environmental stresses such as unscheduled submergence is of pressing important owing to increasing severity of weather thought to arise from global climate change.

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...
