Optimizing Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure on Highways: A MILP Model for Balanced Demand Allocation

open access: yesInternational Journal of Energy Research, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
The strategic placement and sizing of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations on highways are critical for alleviating range anxiety and fostering widespread EV adoption. This paper presents a novel mixed‐integer linear programming (MILP) model for optimizing the location and capacity of charging stations along highway corridors.

Submodular functions and some applications

open access: yes, 2011
En este trabajo se hace una investigación sobre las funciones submodulares, tomando como base el estudio realizado por Satoru Fujishije [7]. Se estudian los conceptos de polimatroide y sistema submodular exhibiendo conjuntamente algunos ejemplos.

A Multilevel Search Algorithm for the Maximization of Submodular Functions [PDF]

open access: yes
We consider the objective function of a simple recourse problem with fixed technology matrix and integer second-stage variables. Separability due to the simple recourse structure allows to study a one-dimensional version instead.

Which submodular functions are expressible using binary submodular functions?

open access: yes, 2008
Submodular functions occur in many combinatorial optimisation problems and a number of polynomial-time algorithms have been devised to minimise such functions.

Some New Estimations of Ostrowski-Type Inequalities for Harmonic Fuzzy Number Convexity via Gamma, Beta and Hypergeometric Functions

open access: yesAxioms
This paper demonstrates several of Ostrowski-type inequalities for fuzzy number functions and investigates their connections with other inequalities. Specifically, employing the Aumann integral and the Kulisch–Miranker order, as well as the inclusion ...

Submodular functions and optimization

open access: yes, 2005
It has widely been recognized that submodular functions play essential roles in efficiently solvable combinatorial optimization problems. Since the publication of the 1st edition of this book fifteen years ago, submodular functions have been showing ...

Active Learning and Submodular Functions

open access: yes, 2012
Thesis (Ph.D.)--University of Washington, 2012Active learning is a machine learning setting where the learning algorithm decides what data is labeled. Submodular functions are a class of set functions for which many optimization problems have efficient ...

Submodular functions on diamonds

open access: yes, 2008
Let V be a finite set. A set function f : 2V → R is said to be submodular if for all A,B ⊆ V we have f(A∪B)+f(A∩B) ≤ f(A)+f(B). Submodular set functions have been studied extensively and examples of such functions include the cut function of graphs and ...
