Two-photon superradiance and subradiance
We consider the problem of two-photon cooperative emission in systems of two-level atoms. Two physically distinct regimes are analyzed. First, we investigate the case of a small number of atoms. We study the evolution of two-photon super- and sub-radiant states and associated two-photon spectra.

We show how an initial localized radiative excitation in a two-dimensional array of cold atoms can be converted into highly directional coherent emission of light by protecting the spreading of the excitation across the array in a subradiant collective ...

Cooperative scattering of scalar waves by optimized configurations of point scatterers
We investigate multiple scattering of scalar waves by an ensemble of $N$ resonant point scatterers in three dimensions. For up to $N = 21$ scatterers, we numerically optimize the positions of the individual scatterers, such as to maximize the total ...

Effect of superradiance on transport of diffusing photons in cold atomic gases
We show that in atomic gases cooperative effects like superradiance and subradiance lead to a potential between two atoms that decays like $1/r$. In the case of superradiance, this potential is attractive for close enough atoms and can be interpreted as ...

Dicke Effect in the Tunnel Current through two Double Quantum Dots
We calculate the stationary current through two double quantum dots which are interacting via a common phonon environment. Numerical and analytical solutions of a master equation in the stationary limit show that the current can be increased as well as ...

Shot noise spectrum of superradiant entangled excitons
The shot noise produced by tunneling of electrons and holes into a double dot system incorporated inside a p-i-n junction is investigated theoretically. The enhancement of the shot noise is shown to originate from the entangled electron-hole pair created

A central goal within quantum optics is to realize efficient, controlled interactions between photons and atomic media. A fundamental limit in nearly all applications based on such systems arises from spontaneous emission, in which photons are absorbed ...

Novel Collective Effects in Integrated Photonics
Superradiance, the enhanced collective emission of energy from a coherent ensemble of quantum systems, has been typically studied in atomic ensembles. In this work we study theoretically the enhanced emission of energy from coherent ensembles of harmonic
