A Study of Contact Detection between Noncircular Particles in Discrete Element Method
One of the key points of modeling noncircular particles in the discrete element method is the contact detection of particles. In this study, a general contact detection algorithm of two‐dimensional particles with analytic shape functions is provided.

A Mathematical Model for a Transmissible Disease with a Variant
The outbreak of the Coronavirus (COVID‐19) pandemic around the world has caused many health and socioeconomic problems, and the identification of variants like Delta and Omicron with similar and often even more transmissible modes of transmission has motivated us to do this study.

Abstract Let V denote an r‐dimensional vector space over F q n, the finite field of q n elements. Then V is also an r n‐dimension vector space over F q. An F q‐subspace U of V is ( h , k ) q‐evasive if it meets the h‐dimensional F q n‐subspaces of V in F q‐subspaces of dimension at most k.

Multivariate subresultants in roots [PDF]
We give a rational expression for the subresultants of n+1 generic polynomials f1,…,fn+1 in n variables as a function of the coordinates of the common roots of f1,…,fn and their evaluation in fn+1.

We formalize the theory of subresultants and the subresultant polynomial remainder sequence as described by Brown and Traub. As a result, we obtain efficient certified algorithms for computing the resultant and the greatest common divisor of ...

Multivariate subresultants using Jouanolou matrices [PDF]
Earlier results expressing multivariate subresultants as ratios of two subdeterminants of the Macaulay matrix are extended to Jouanolou matrices. These matrix constructions are generalizations of the classical Macaulay matrices and involve matrices of ...

Multivariate subresultants [PDF]
In this text, we will introduce the natural generalization of the so-called subresultants of two polynomials in one variable, to the case of s ≤ n homogeneous polynomials in n variables.

A chain rule for subresultants [PDF]
Let I be an integral domain and let f, g, h be polynomials in x over I with positive degrees m, n and k. McKay and Wang proved that res(f∘h,g∘h)=[lc(h)mnres(f,g)]k where res(f,g) denotes the resultant of f and g, and lc(h) denotes the leading coefficient

On the irreducibility of multivariate subresultants [PDF]
Let $P_1,\ldots,P_n$ be generic homogeneous polynomials in $n$ variables of degrees $d_1,\ldots,d_n$ respectively. We prove that if $\nu$ is an integer satisfying ${\sum_{i=1}^n d_i}-n+1-\min\{d_i\}
