Apoprotein B in subretinal fluid

International Ophthalmology, 1997
We studied the presence of apolipoprotein B (apo B) by immunoelectrophoresis in subretinal fluid (SRF) and serum from 15 rhegmatogenous retinal detachments and 5 retinal detachments with proliferative vitreoretinopathy (PVR). Apo B concentration +/- standard deviation was 1.49 +/- 1.06 mg/dl in SRF and 108.41 +/- 40.22 mg/dl in serum.

COMPLICATIONS OF DRAINING SUBRETINAL FLUID

Retina, 1984
Drainage of subretinal fluid was performed in 84% of a consecutive series of 662 primary scleral buckling procedures, and complications of this maneuver were observed in 5.6% of cases. The ultimate anatomic success rate in this series was 94.2%. Although 97% of failures were due to massive proliferative vitreoretinopathy, the process developed in no ...

Amines in the Subretinal Fluid and Aqueous

American Journal of Ophthalmology, 1981
We examined 49 samples of subretinal fluid and nine samples of aqueous from patients with retinal detachments. Seven amines (histamine, dopamine, methylamine, ethanolamine, dimethylamine, pyridoxamine, and piperidine) were positively identified and quantitated. The amines in the subretinal fluid were similar to those present in the aqueous.

Biochemical Studies of Subretinal Fluid

Archives of Ophthalmology, 1964
The purpose of this paper is to report on the ascorbic acid content of subretinal fluid (SRF) in 75 cases of idiopathic retinal detachment, relating the findings to certain clinical data. Heath et al 1 (27 cases) reported that the mean "total" ascorbic acid * content of SRF from eyes in which no retinal break could be found was significantly lower ...

Apoprotein A and A-I profiles in subretinal fluid

International Ophthalmology, 1993
Previous reports have described the presence of apoproteins A in subretinal fluid (SRF). We studied the presence of total apoprotein A (apo A) and apoprotein A-I (apo A-I), using the method described by Laurel in SRF and its levels in serum in 20 patients with retinal detachment.

Immunoglobulins of the Subretinal Fluid

1981
The formation of subretinal fluid (SRF) in rhegmatogenous retinal detachment is a complex process involving the vitreous (Cooper, Halbert & Manski 1963), the sensory retina and retinal pigment epithelium (Leopold & Furman 1971; Feeney, Burns & Nixon 1975) and the choriocapillaris (Kaufman & Podos 1973).

Antithrombin III Activity in Subretinal Fluid

European Journal of Ophthalmology, 2000
Purpose To evaluate antithrombin III (AT III) activity in subretinal fluid (SRF) and blood plasma. Methods Prospective study of 32 patients, aged from 20 to 77 years (mean 53.8 years), undergoing retinal detachment surgery.

A Case of Traumatic Choroidopathy With Subretinal Fluid

Journal of VitreoRetinal Diseases, 2020
Purpose: We report a unique case of blunt ocular trauma with subretinal fluid (SRF), presumed to be traumatic choroidopathy as evidenced by multimodal imaging. Methods: A case report is presented. Results: A 22-year-old woman involved in a motor vehicle accident presented 1 day later to our emergency department with blurred vision in the left eye ...

Some Inorganic Constituents of the Subretinal Fluid

Ophthalmologica, 2010
The inorganic constituents of the subretinal fluid (SRF) were analyzed using atomic absorption spectrometry. Four main elements (Na, K, Ca, Mg) were determined in 41 samples; Cu was determined in 36 samples and Zn in 24 samples. The results are presented graphically, taking into account the concentrations of each element in the SRF and the number of ...
