Autofluorescence of the Cells in Human Subretinal Fluid

open access: yesInvestigative Opthalmology & Visual Science, 2011
The origin of autofluorescence in the subretinal space and the autofluorescence properties of the cells were investigated in surgically collected subretinal fluid.Subretinal fluid was surgically collected from four eyes of patients with rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (three eyes) and Coats' disease (one eye).

Systematic Analysis of Plasma‐Derived Extracellular Vesicle‐Enriched Samples in Age‐Related Macular Degeneration Reveals Oxidative Stress Linked to Altered Lipid and Protein Profiles

open access: yesJournal of Extracellular Biology, Volume 5, Issue 9, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Vision impairment caused by age‐related macular degeneration (AMD) is a global health priority. Retinal pathology is driven by ageing and exacerbated by genetic and environmental risk factors. Peripheral blood circulation is increasingly recognised as a contributor to disease initiation and progression, and a source of biomarkers to support ...

Eplerenone as a novel treatment for persistent subretinal fluid following retinal detachment surgery [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Purpose: To describe the clinical course of a patient with persistent subretinal fluid (SRF) after primary scleral buckle surgery for a rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD) repair who was subsequently treated with oral eplerenone for resolution of SRF.

Injecting OVD temporarily seal the edge of the retinectomy to prevent subretinal perfluorocarbon liquid droplets retention and retinal slippage during fluid-air exchange

open access: yesInternational Journal of Retina and Vitreous
Background To investigate effect of the injection of ophthalmic viscosurgical device (DisCoVisc) temporarily seal the edge of the retinectomy to prevent subretinal perfluorocarbon liquid (PFCL) droplets retention and retinal slippage during fluid-air ...
