Sensors Layout Optimization Design of Rocket Sled Test System [PDF]
The rocket sled, as a ground dynamic test system, combines the characteristics of the wind tunnel test and the flight test. However, some practical factors, such as shock wave interference, ground effect, and high-intensity aerodynamic noise will cause ...

Three-Dimensional Deformation Calculation of Wind Tunnel Flexible Wall Using Orthogonal Beam Function [PDF]
Transonic/supersonic wind tunnels are indispensable equipment for advanced aircraft to operate across subsonic, transonic, and supersonic regimes. The deformation of the flexible nozzle is the key to accurately controlling the Mach number of transonic ...

Wind Tunnel Experiment and Numerical Simulation of Secondary Flow Systems on a Supersonic Wing
Aircraft secondary flow systems are small-flow circulation devices that are used for thermal and cold management, flow control, and energy generation on aircraft. The aerodynamic characteristics of main-flow-based inlets have been widely studied, but the

Numerical Investigations of Model Support Interference in Subsonic and Transonic Wind Tunnels
The aerodynamic interference effects of usual devices supporting aircraft models during wind tunnel tests have been studied by means of steady RANS simulations of the flow. The flow field and force disturbance caused by the supports were deduced by comparing simulations with and without support. Two configurations were addressed.

Transonic Aerodynamic Analysis of Different Forebody Shapes of Aerospace Vehicles [PDF]
One of the most important features of an aerospace vehicle design is its shape, especially the forebody part, since it defines the main characteristics of the vehicle aerodynamic.

Test Facility for High-Speed Probe Calibration [PDF]
A new test facility was built up as a part of a closed-loop transonic wind tunnel in VZLU´s High-speed Aerodynamics Department. The wind tunnel is driven by a twelve stage radial compressor and Mach and Reynolds numbers can be changed by the compressor ...

Aerodynamic Free-Flight Conditions in Wind Tunnel Modelling through Reduced-Order Wall Inserts
Parallel sidewalls are the standard bounding walls in wind tunnels when making a wind tunnel model for free-flight condition. The consequence of confinement in wind tunnel tests, known as wall-interference, is one of the main sources of uncertainty in ...
