Modal Parameter Identification of a Structure Under Earthquake via a Wavelet-Based Subspace Approach

open access: yesApplied Sciences
This paper introduces a novel wavelet-based methodology for identifying the modal parameters of a structure in the aftermath of an earthquake. Our proposed approach seamlessly combines a subspace method with a stationary wavelet packet transform.

Customizing Tactile Sensors via Machine Learning‐Driven Inverse Design

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Replicating the sophisticated sense of touch in artificial systems requires tactile sensors with precisely tailored properties. However, manually navigating the complex microstructure‐property relationship results in inefficient and suboptimal designs.

Blind reception for multi-antenna ultra-wideband transmissions

open access: yesTongxin xuebao, 2006
A blind linear receiver for multi-antenna impulse radio ultra-wideband(UWB)communication systems was proposed.Without the need of channel information, specific properties of the received data imposed by the precoded space-time block codes(STBC)could be ...

Real‐time fault detection in multicomponent nuclear‐waste slurries through data fusion of spectroscopic sensors

open access: yesAIChE Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Three instruments–Raman spectroscopy, attenuated total reflectance–Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and focused beam reflectance measurement–were used to detect sensor faults, mixing faults, and unanticipated chemistry in a system of multicomponent slurries.

Bilinear System Identification Using Subspace Method

open access: yesمجلة بغداد للعلوم, 2007
In this paper, a subspace identification method for bilinear systems is used . Wherein a " three-block " and " four-block " subspace algorithms are used. In this algorithms the input signal to the system does not have to be white .

Subspace Methods for Multimicrophone Speech Dereverberation [PDF]

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2003
Summary: A novel approach for multimicrophone speech dereverberation is presented. The method is based on the construction of the null subspace of the data matrix in the presence of colored noise, using the generalized singular-value decomposition technique, or the generalized eigenvalue decomposition of the respective correlation matrices. The special

Trust‐region filter algorithms utilizing Hessian information for gray‐box optimization

open access: yesAIChE Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Optimizing industrial processes often involves gray‐box models that couple algebraic glass‐box equations with black‐box components lacking analytic derivatives. Such systems challenge derivative‐based solvers. The classical trust‐region filter (TRF) algorithm provides a robust framework but requires extensive parameter tuning and numerous ...
