Solid Harmonic Wavelet Bispectrum for Image Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The Solid Harmonic Wavelet Bispectrum (SHWB), a rotation‐ and translation‐invariant descriptor that captures higher‐order (phase) correlations in signals, is introduced. Combining wavelet scattering, bispectral analysis, and group theory, SHWB achieves interpretable, data‐efficient representations and demonstrates competitive performance across texture,

Spot Position Extraction Based on High-resolution Parametric Subspace Method without Eigen decomposition

open access: yesWasit Journal of Engineering Sciences, 2013
This paper presents a subspace method of spot centroiding algorithm for locating the centers of laser spots. It focuses on how to find the position of the activated pixel which is the position of the imaged spot on the detector of the camera using ...

A projection method for statics and dynamics of lattice spin systems

open access: yes, 1998
A method based on Monte Carlo sampling of the probability flows projected onto the subspace of one or more slow variables is proposed for investigation of dynamic and static properties of lattice spin systems.

GloPath: An Entity‐Centric Foundation Model for Glomerular Lesion Assessment and Clinicopathological Insights

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An entity‐centric foundation model, GloPath, is introduced for comprehensive glomerular lesion assessment from routine renal biopsy images. Trained on over one million glomeruli, the framework enables robust lesion recognition, grading, and cross modality diag nosis, while uncovering large‐scale clinicopathological associations.

Stability of matrix factorization for collaborative filtering [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We study the stability vis a vis adversarial noise of matrix factorization algorithm for matrix completion. In particular, our results include: (I) we bound the gap between the solution matrix of the factorization method and the ground truth in terms of ...

Rapid Proteome‐Wide Discovery of Protein–Protein Interactions With ppIRIS

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ppIRIS is a lightweight deep learning framework for proteome‐wide protein–protein interaction prediction directly from sequence. By fusing evolutionary and structural embeddings with a regularized Siamese architecture, ppIRIS achieves state‐of‐the‐art accuracy across species, enables minute‐scale screening, and reveals biologically validated bacterial ...

Bags of Affine Subspaces for Robust Object Tracking

open access: yes, 2015
We propose an adaptive tracking algorithm where the object is modelled as a continuously updated bag of affine subspaces, with each subspace constructed from the object's appearance over several consecutive frames. In contrast to linear subspaces, affine

The Hamiltonian extended Krylov subspace method

open access: yesThe Electronic Journal of Linear Algebra, 2022
An algorithm for constructing a $J$-orthogonal basis of the extended Krylov subspace$\mathcal{K}_{r,s}=\operatorname{range}\{u,Hu, H^2u,$ $ \ldots, $ $H^{2r-1}u, H^{-1}u, H^{-2}u, \ldots, H^{-2s}u\},$where $H \in \mathbb{R}^{2n \times 2n}$ is a large (and sparse) Hamiltonian matrix is derived (for $r = s+1$ or $r=s$).

Random Time‐Space Coding Metasurfaces for Spatial Control of the Temporal Statistics of Electromagnetic Fields

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A probabilistic framework based on random time‐space coding metasurfaces enables control of the spatial distribution of electromagnetic fields temporal statistics. By tailoring the marginal and joint distributions of random codes, electromagnetic fields with desired mean and variance patterns are realized, enabling simultaneous transmission and jamming.
