Subspace Methods in System Identification

open access: yesIFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1994
Abstract Subspace-based methods for system identification have attracted much attention during the past few years. This interest is due to the ability of providing accurate state-space models for multivariable linear systems directly from input-output data.

Modal–Physical Hybrid System Identification of High-rise Building via Subspace and Inverse-Mode Methods

open access: yesFrontiers in Built Environment, 2017
A system identification (SI) problem of high-rise buildings is investigated under restricted data environments. The shear and bending stiffnesses of a shear-bending model (SB model) representing the high-rise buildings are identified via the smart ...

Model-Free PI/PID Controller Tuning of Higher Order Nonlinear Dynamic Systems [PDF]

open access: yesModeling, Identification and Control, 2019
This paper concerns model-free PI/PID controller tuning of possible (nonlinear) higher order systems. The method can be considered as a three-step procedure.

Frequency-domain subspace identification for nonlinear mechanical systems [PDF]

open access: yesMechanical Systems and Signal Processing, 2013
Abstract This paper introduces a new frequency-domain subspace-based method for the identification of nonlinear mechanical systems. The technique exploits frequency-domain data and interprets nonlinearities as feedback forces exciting the underlying linear system. It is first demonstrated using two academic examples, namely a Duffing oscillator and a

Multivariate Identification via Linear Projection of Eigenvectors

open access: yesMathematics
A data-driven system identification algorithm that utilizes eigenvectors is presented. The eigenvectors are extracted from a unified solution space comprising both input and output subspaces. To expand the input subspace, a higher-order subspace from the

Subspace system identification via weighted nuclear norm optimization [PDF]

open access: yes2012 IEEE 51st IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (CDC), 2012
We present a subspace system identification method based on weighted nuclear norm approximation. The weight matrices used in the nuclear norm minimization are the same weights as used in standard subspace identification methods. We show that the inclusion of the weights improves the performance in terms of fit on validation data.

Consensus Control for Looper Tension Control System Using Subspace Identification Method

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
The looper tension control system of hot strip mills is a typical multi-agent system, and the coupling effects among the agents are strong. However,it is difficult for us to establish the accurate coupling model for the looper tension control system.
