Asymptotics for the Spectrum of the Laplacian in Thin Bars with Varying Cross Sections

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, Volume 49, Issue 8, Page 8044-8060, 30 May 2026.
ABSTRACT We consider spectral problems for the Laplace operator in 3D rod structures with a small cross section of diameter O(ε)$$ O\left(\varepsilon \right) $$, ε$$ \varepsilon $$ being a positive parameter. The boundary conditions are Dirichlet (Neumann, respectively) on the bases of this structure, and Neumann on the lateral boundary.

Projective Spaces, Grassmannians and the Plücker Embedding

open access: yes
This thesis focuses on certain sets of geometrical objects, namely all linear subspaces of a certain dimension in a given vector space. The theory needed consists mostly of elementary linear algebra and a modicum of general and differential topology. The

On the Topology of Discrete Strategies

open access: yes, 2009
This paper explores a topological perspective of planning in the presence of uncertainty, focusing on tasks specified by goal states in discrete spaces. The paper introduces strategy complexes.

The robust stability of iterative learning control

open access: yes, 2010
This thesis examines the notion of the long term robust stability of iterative learning control (ILC) systems engaged in trajectory tracking, using a robust stability theorem based on a biased version of the nonlinear gap metric. This is achieved through
