Unified phylogenetic species concept: taking subspecies and race out of science: postmodern theory applied to the Potamophylax cingulatus group (Trichoptera, Limnephilidae) [PDF]
The subspecies of the biological species concept with incomplete reproductive isolation versus the incipient sibling species of the phylogenetic species concept with permeable reproductive barrier are still applied side by side in the everyday practice ...

Genomics Insights Into High‐Latitude Adaptation of Tibetan Macaques
Tibetan macaques exhibit unique adaptations to cold, high‐latitude environments, including shortened tails and enhanced fat storage. Genomic analyses reveal a species‐specific TBX6 mutation linked to tail reduction and selection on lipid metabolism genes.

This study reveals the genetic and molecular mechanisms controlling grain size homeostasis through fine‐tuning OsGRX8 self‐expression by two natural negative feedback loops functioning in redox‐dependent or ‐independent manners and identifies two self‐regulatory haplotypes (SRHs) for the subspecies differentiation in rice.

Historical ostriches in the Libyan Desert, with ecological and taxonomic considerations
Many historical records extend the known range of the African ostrich Struthio camelus to include almost the entire state territory of Libya. This significant expansion augments the spatial potentialities to reintroduce captive-bred progeny of the ...

This study identifies Pirin (PIR), an iron‐binding protein, as a critical ferroptosis suppressor in colorectal cancer through lipid membrane remodeling. PIR, induced by NRF2 during ferroptotic stress, transcriptionally regulates PLA2G4A to shift cellular lipid composition away from ferroptosis‐permissive polyunsaturated phospholipids.

Additive and Partially Dominant Effects from Genomic Variation Contribute to Rice Heterosis
Additive and partially dominant effects, namely at mid‐parent levels or values between mid‐parent and parental levels, respectively, are the predominant inheritance patterns of heterosis‐associated molecules. These two genetic effects contribute to heterosis of agronomic traits in both rice and maize, as well as biomass heterosis in Arabidopsis ...

Fusobacterium nucleatum contributes to the progression of ESCC by inducing NF‐κB–mediated inflammatory signaling in tumor cells and promoting CAFs activation. Its presence may facilitate immune exclusion and tumor invasion through stromal remodeling. Furthermore, F.
