In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Mulla Sadra’s philosophical and theological approach in integration of human physical resurrection [PDF]

open access: yesحکمت صدرایی, 2017
One of the key characteristics of Mulla Sadra's philosophical approach in the integration of human physical resurrection is describing religion from within and establishing a relationship between the levels of the world and those of the soul on the basis

PICALM::MLLT10 translocated leukemia

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This comprehensive review of PICALM::MLLT10 translocated acute leukemia provides an in‐depth review of the structure and function of CALM, AF10, and the fusion oncoprotein (1). The multifaceted molecular mechanisms of oncogenesis, including nucleocytoplasmic shuttling (2), epigenetic modifications (3), and disruption of endocytosis (4), are then ...

Mulla Sadra on “divine metempsychosis” [PDF]

open access: yesحکمت صدرایی, 2014
“Celestial metempsychosis” is transferring the soul from physical body to the other-worldly one according to moral attributes and their manifestation in the afterlife.

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Redefinition of philosophical concepts on the basis of Sadra’s doctrine of personal unity of existence [PDF]

open access: yesحکمت صدرایی, 2014
Mulla Sadra has been accused of electing two different conceptual schemes of philosophy and mysticism. However, it can be said that he reconstructed and redefined fundamental philosophical concepts in light of mystical doctrines.

Inhibiting stearoyl‐CoA desaturase suppresses bone metastatic prostate cancer by modulating cellular stress, mTOR signaling, and DNA damage response

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bone metastasis in prostate cancer (PCa) patients is a clinical hurdle due to the poor understanding of the supportive bone microenvironment. Here, we identify stearoyl‐CoA desaturase (SCD) as a tumor‐promoting enzyme and potential therapeutic target in bone metastatic PCa.

Numerical Substantiations on Aerodynamic Equivalence between Blade Flapping and Feathering Motions of a Lifting Rotor.

open access: yesJOURNAL OF THE JAPAN SOCIETY FOR AERONAUTICAL AND SPACE SCIENCES, 2001
To substantiate an aerodynamic equivalence between blade flapping and feathering motions which is used widely in trim and performance calculations of a helicopter, numerical study are carried out using the CFD code based on unsteady 3 D compressible Euler equations with a moving grid system.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...
