Miniaturized 4 × 4 Butler Matrix and Tunable Phase Shifter Using Ridged Half-Mode Substrate Integrated Waveguide

IEEE transactions on microwave theory and techniques, 2020
A novel $4 \times 4$ Butler matrix fabricated on ridged half-mode substrate integrated waveguide (RHMSIW) technology is designed and realized. The integration of the proposed Butler matrix with tunable phase shifters fabricated using the same technology ...

Scanning Rate Enhancement of Leaky-Wave Antennas Using Slow-Wave Substrate Integrated Waveguide Structure

IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 2018
In this communication, we propose a high scanning rate leaky-wave antenna (LWA) based on a slow-wave substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) structure. The slow-wave effect is introduced by etching periodical slots on the top surface of SIW.

Balanced Diplexer Based on Substrate Integrated Waveguide Dual-Mode Resonator

IEEE transactions on microwave theory and techniques, 2020
This article presents a novel balanced diplexer based on substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) dual-mode resonator. The six-port model has been introduced in this article to achieve the conversion of S-parameters between balanced and unbalanced devices ...

A Compact Substrate Integrated Waveguide Notched-Septum Polarizer for 5G Mobile Devices

IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters, 2020
In this letter, a compact substrate-integrated waveguide (SIW) notched-septum polarizer is designed, manufactured, and tested. Metalized slots are used instead of vias in proximity to the notches to improve polarization purity.

Analysis of Eighth-Mode Substrate-Integrated Waveguide Cavity and Flexible Filter Design

IEEE transactions on microwave theory and techniques, 2019
In this paper, a systematic research campaign on eighth-mode substrate integrated waveguide (EMSIW) filters is reported. The sizes of these EMSIW resonant cavities are only one-eighth or one-sixteenth of a conventional SIW resonant cavity.

Substrate-Integrated-Waveguide Power Dividers: An Overview of the Current Technology

IEEE Antennas & Propagation Magazine, 2020
Power dividers are important components of microwave/millimeter wave (mm-wave) circuit design. This article provides a comprehensive review of the state-of-the-art substrate-integrated-waveguide (SIW) power dividers/combiners.

Hybrid Spoof Surface Plasmon Polariton and Substrate Integrated Waveguide Broadband Bandpass Filter With Wide Out-of-Band Rejection

IEEE Microwave and Wireless Components Letters, 2018
This letter presents a novel hybrid spoof surface plasmon polariton (SSPP) and substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) filter, which has the broadband bandpass and wide out-of-band rejection features.

Substrate integrated waveguide phase shifter

2011 International Conference on Electronics, Communications and Control (ICECC), 2011
An analogue variable phase shifter on the substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) technique operating at 26 GHz is proposed which employs varactor diodes, properly coupled to the SIW coupler to achieve a continuous electronic control of the phase shift. A vertical transition between 50 Ohm SMA and SIW is used for direct coupling.

A Review on Substrate Integrated Waveguide Transitions

2019 TEQIP III Sponsored International Conference on Microwave Integrated Circuits, Photonics and Wireless Networks (IMICPW), 2019
Substrate Integrated Waveguide (SIW) is the key technology for implementing of mm-wave integrated circuits and systems. A low loss, compact, flexible and cost-effective solution for integrating elements on the same substrate is made possible by SIW structures.

Microstrip to Ridge Empty Substrate-Integrated Waveguide Transition for Broadband Microwave Applications

IEEE Microwave and Wireless Components Letters, 2020
The empty substrate-integrated waveguide (SIW) (ESIW) is an evolution of the SIW. Just as the SIW, the ESIW is of low cost and low profile, and can be integrated into a printed circuit board, but the losses in the ESIW are lower than in those in the SIW ...
