KTN Dielectric Properties at Microwave Frequencies: Substrate Influence

Ferroelectrics, 2007
To determine the dielectric properties of ferroelectric thin-films over a wide range of frequencies we developed a simple and efficient method based on the measurement of coplanar waveguide realized on ferroelectric/dielectric heterostructures by using a Spectral Domain Approach.

Substrate influence in Hawai‘i Creole English

Language in Society, 2000
Since the 1970s, it has been assumed that the diverse languages of plantation laborers in Hawai‘i had little effect on the development of Hawai‘i Creole English (HCE); this view supported theories that emphasize the role of innate linguistic universals in creolization.

Metal coordination influences substrate binding in horseradish peroxidase

European Biophysics Journal, 2000
To clarify the role of metal ion coordination in horseradish peroxidase C (HRPC), the effect of pressure and of an externally applied electric field on spectral holes was compared for both metal-free and Mg-mesoporphyrin-substituted horseradish peroxidase C (MP-HRP and MgMP-HRP), as affected by the binding of 2-naphthohydroxamic acid (NHA).

Substrate influence in Northern Quechua languages

2021
Abstract Quechua language varieties spread northward into parts of Ecuador, Colombia, and Northern Peru, and were adopted as a native language by speakers of earlier Pacific, Highland, and Amazonian languages in a process of language shift. This process started in the fifteenth century with the Inca state, and is still going on in some regions in the ...

Cultural Influences on Neural Substrates of Attentional Control

Psychological Science, 2008
Behavioral research has shown that people from Western cultural contexts perform better on tasks emphasizing independent (absolute) dimensions than on tasks emphasizing interdependent (relative) dimensions, whereas the reverse is true for people from East Asian contexts. We assessed functional magnetic resonance imaging responses during performance of

Influence of substrate on self-assembled photonic crystal

Chemical Communications, 2004
Freestanding monolayers of two-dimensional particle arrays, in which fine particles are two-dimensionally self-assembled in a highly oriented manner, was prepared to examine the influence of substrate on the transmission spectra of 2D particle array; as a result, the spectrum of the freestanding 2D particle array has less noise than that of the 2D ...

Influence of Substrate Elasticity on Droplet Impact Dynamics

Langmuir, 2013
Droplet impact dynamics is vital to the understanding of several phase-change and heat-transfer phenomena. This work examines the role of substrate elasticity on the spreading and retraction behavior of water droplets impacting flat and textured superhydrophobic substrates.

Influence of substrate thickness on optical disk readout

Applied Optics, 1997
I consider the influence of different substrate thicknesses on the signal obtained from an optical disk. Two solutions are presented for the reading of different disk types. In one situation a substrate thickness change for disks with equal density is made inoffensive by introduction of a combined amplitude-phase mask in the pupil of the readout ...

Definite influence of substrate-contact condition on SOI substrate impedance parameters

2017 IEEE SOI-3D-Subthreshold Microelectronics Technology Unified Conference (S3S), 2017
To better understand the pseudo-MOS structure, the influences of native oxide on the back surface of the SOI wafer and contact condition with the metal chuck on impedance are analyzed. When the initial resistance value of the back contact after HF treatment is low, the resistance slowly increases with time after HF treatment.

Substrate influences in Kriyol

2011
Kriyol is a Portuguese-related creole language spoken in Guinea-Bissau (former Portuguese Guinea) and Senegalese Casamance. Besides being the primary language of an important community, it also serves as a lingua franca in a multilingual country where Portuguese, although being the official language, actually has little currency.
